California Prop 35 | Permanent tax on health care plans to fund Medi-Cal services

I'd be glad to support health care providers who generously serve Medi-cal recipients, but this proposition loses me at the Fiscal Impact. As stated in the California Voter Information Guide booklet: "Fiscal Impact: Short-term state costs between roughly $1 billion and $2 billion annually to increase funding for certain health programs. Total funding increase between roughly $2 billion to $5 billion annually. Unknown long-term fiscal effects." If I understand this correctly, prop 35, even with its promise to cap administrative expenses at 1%, will cost nearly half of what it brings in to implement the program changes. There's got to be a more efficient way.

VOTING NO ON PROP 35. It's not permanent and will only be in effect until 2026. Will take another look at it at that time.

Gee I wonder if the billions of dollars quarterly that the managed care companies make for managing Medi-Cal makes any difference in the amount of money available to pay doctors and others ....theey can't run their businesses on the extremely low rates allowed by the managed Care companies.
