To the mom, I am sorry for your loss. It's a horrible club to be in.

It is so hard to be a mom. My first goal to prevent addiction was no medicine during pregnancy. New moms I advise to try doolas and exercise regularly. You tube has great advice (run it by your doctor). Then in the first year of life, no stress...no yelling... stay on babies schedule... sacrifice your own needs. Breastmilk, blended fresh veggies only, no processed baby products and absolutely no sugar. Then from 1 through 5 do all you can to never to use any medication. Wash a babies hands 10 times a day! Limit being in unclean public places. Wash hands constantly. Eat healthy foods. Watch your own stress and communicate about feelings throughly. Not just "how are you?" . Parenting is no joke. As a parent do not do drugs yourself nor drink alcohol. Exercise with your child. Learn about signs of sexual abuses and keep your child within view of all family members and friends (thus is why you should never get drunk ever!). Raising teens is the hardest stage. Stay more involved then ever! Put the teen in 2 full time sports, get a tutor, go to church and make them do chores and cook daily! The plan is to exhaust them so they want to go to bed and rest deeply at night! By 12 they should have a 'job' and be learning to save. This is advice from a mom whose middle age daughters are NOT on drugs and from a public school teacher of 20 years.
