Haggin oaks is the place on Thursday and Friday nights. Great people, and they placed three big screen tvs along side the driving range.

On your way south visit Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz. One of Dr. MacKenzie's best designs. He actually lived next to the course until his death in 1934.. Glad you made it out west. You two are the best!

The pickup painted white with Callaway written all over it is a Ford Model A, which was offered in various configurations. I think the first F series pickup was an F50 in about 1935; the last Model A came off the line in 1932. Good video, thanks.

Scotty Cameron with a Ping grip, sounds like a great combination, I bought my first Ping Putter at our local Golf club in New Glasgow Nova Scotia a course that has been around for over one hundred years. I bought it about 3 years after I started golfing at 32 years of age. It was the most expensive putter at the time at over $120 Canadian. Still have it, my son uses it for the last 12 years and we just changed the grip to a size 5.0 super stroke. Still a killer putter.

Posted it on another Video but Alister Mackenzie also created the Northwood Golf Club in Guerneville, Ca along the Russian river. It is only $20 to play the course it's a gorgeous course amongst the Redwoods.

Been to Haggin Oaks a couple of times. They NEVER disappoint. Bought a TP Mills 5 there about 5 years ago. Semi-retired it, but haven't sold it. Such a great video! On to 250K!!!!

That H B wooden driver was a product of Hillerich and Bradsby. Their claim to fame was actually baseball bats but Powerbilt apparently bought them out. Or it could have been Louisville Slugger that bought them out just to get rid of their competition. I'm guessing on the spelling of the H & B brand.

You are correct on the name. H&B made baseball bats and Powerbilt golf clubs. They make the Louisville Slugger and it is (or was) marketed by Wilson.

Harold, close but not quite...LOL H&B created and patented the Lousiville Slugger line, named after the louisville eclipse's star player Pete "Louisville Slugger" Browning, they also started the powerbilt line of clubs, not got bought by them....LOL

Miller Barber also played H & B brand clubs. Whenever I see anything with H&B markings in good condition at a reasonable price when out thrifting for clubs, I always buy them. They are some of the favorite clubs I have in my collection. All of the H&B stuff I have is forged and each club has a great balanced feel. Also, DiMaggio, Joltin' Joe that is, used H&B custom bats. If am NOT mistaken he used an H&B bat with a sanded down barrel and grip for his famous hitting streak back in 1941.@@MrBogieboy01

If you guys want a cool treat, head back over to Highway 101 and you can play the Alister Mackenzie course Northwoods which is in the middle of a Redwood grove near the Russian River. It's a nine hole track and it is awesome to experience the Redwoods as well as a historic course. Mackenzie designed 19 courses in California so there are many great examples.

Not sure where you are on your trip, but in San Diego, you have Golf Mart in Mission Valley with a decent amount of thrift stores a few miles away along with a number of courses nearby. Definitely try to play Tecolote Canyon executive as it's a Sam Snead design and pretty easy to get a tee time during week days. Otherwise, it's hard to get tee times. Oh, and the Scotty Cameron store is in Encinitas just off the I-5.

Check out Northwood golf club if you’re looking to an Alister Mackenzie course in northern CA, typically no tee time needed. It’s a 9 hole gem in Sonoma county. Used to be a private course for the bohemian club. Now open to the masses. Very fun course.

Mackenzie courses also include Claremont Country Club in Oakland, CA. I played Hagen Oaks with my son and it was enjoyable. The golf shop was indeed over the top.

If you're headed to San Francisco, you must play one of the 5 municipal golf courses: I recommend Lincoln Park GC (18 Holes) for the views and Gleneagles GC (9 holes x2) for the challenge....these are everyone's bucket list destinations. Lee Trevino said, Gleneagles was as hard a golf course he has ever played. (In a warm up round prior to the US Open at the Olympic Club.)

If you're going to Santa Cruz on your trip, there is another Alister McKenzie disign golf course, it's called Pasa Tiempo. you also sould go to the Santa Cruz Beach Bordwalk, it is a historical landmark, and you must ride the "Giant Dipper" it is a wood roller coaster that was built in 1904.
