About a year ago I was looking for reviews and comparisons between starter clubs when I came across Rick Shiels. What I thoroughly enjoy about the reviews is how he describes the feel and also his comparison to other clubs. Living in an area with no local golf centers or testable clubs, being able to have a description of other clubs to compare really helps. So glad the H.I.T. channel is up and running, well done gentlemen.

I would cut off a small part of a finger if I could get Rick to play "game improvement" irons. I love the guy but he is not a T-100 type player. I am a 2 Handicap and I play Rogue X irons. They are basically made for 25 handicappers or so. I couldn't care less. I play much, much better with these irons than some "blades". If I hear the word "workability" one more time I may jump off a bridge. It might be the dumbest concept in golf. Watch James Robinsons shot tracers. There is no "workability"...he just hits it straight.
@jimiverson3085 Жыл бұрын
He's got a lot of irons in the fire with videos and podcasts. And he needs to keep the programming coming to keep up his viewership, which is how he makes a living. I imagine Rick finds it difficult to find time to spend working on his game. Playing tour irons might be asking a bit much.

@suilegew11 ай бұрын
And they're way too strong lofted. Unless you're a slow swinger that need help with distance, look elsewhere or your gonna need 5 wedges to fill the lower gap in the bag. The pw is 43 degrees for crying out loud!!!
@Reffitt211 ай бұрын
@suilegew Agreed. Too strong for me. I hit them in a sim and was carrying 9 iron 164 yards. I prefer the lofts of the T150s and T100s much more. I suppose that's why you can get the approach/gap wedge in the T200 set. Lol.
@chrisgilligan496810 ай бұрын
@@suilegew The set does have a GW. I actually ordered my set from 5-GW instead of 4-PW. So instead of carrying a 4 iron, and a hybrid etc. Now my 5 iron goes about as well as the 3 hybrid I used to carry. There's a hair too big of a gap from my 5 iron to my 5 wood....but I don't see that coming into play very often. The T200's effectively move everything up by 1 club - but I'm getting a higher launch/peak height out of all of them, and more consistent distance on off centre hits than my old gamers. I'm not a fast swinger....but also not slow. Driver is about 100mph plus or minus on any given swing....7 iron is about 80mph.

I’m a 2 handicap and I’m dying to try these out. They got rid of a lot of the offset that the AP3 had which makes these so much more appealing to me. Plus the increased forgiveness over the T100/T150 would be super beneficial in the early months of the season post-winter. I hope they’re as good as they seem!

Your a 2 hdcp and thinking about these? I might have to rethink my game i have a 10 hdcp in 12 months of playing and have Ben Hogan Icon blades in the bag but i'm growing tired of having to middle every shot, every round. I'm really thinking of going backwards to a iron like my Ping I525 from last year but i hated those with a passion lol i just like pure forged clubs in general i'm in a dilemma and need to get fitted again

I’m in the same position as you. I’m a 3 handicap who loved my AP3’s. Ordered the T150’s. Didn’t like the feel, ball flight, distance, etc. Went back to my AP3’s and ordered the T200’s. Waiting for them to arrive. Excited to see how they stack up against the AP3’s. Let me know what you think about them. I’ve been trying to find someone to compare the AP3 and the T200. All the best.

Great video. Just had a Callaway Big Bertha 2016 model sell underneath me so thank you for the video to lift my spirits. Cheers.

I'd be interested to see your comparison to the Srixon ZX5 or ZX4. With the rave reviews, I've been thinking about getting fit and this video just made that lineup decision harder

We all want to play with blades and I love that you have the look of a blade but forgiveness in these hollow heads. Great clubs. I'm glad Rick does the comparison to the 790s too.

I've just had a fitting for the T200 irons, I loved them and I've bought a set, I can't wait for them to arrive. I did try the P790 irons and I also liked them. The Titleist just felt a bit better and it also gained me 5 more yards than the P790, but still with a good spin rate and descent angle. Both are very good irons.

Will be in the market for a new set of irons this winter. T200 seems right up my alley as I’m playing around a 10-12 handicap. Concerned about the gapping to my wedges though… PW 42 to a 50 degree gap wedge could easily be a 20 yard gapping which is not whatcha want.

My own personal T150's are in flight to my bag. So excited. I hit those clubs and was just gobsmacked. What a beautiful feel these Titliest irons have. I hit all the others too at club champion too. Does this feel translate to everyone's game, try for yourself!

I have an issue with so called “Distance” irons not being more open that they achieve this by jacking up lofts. A 160 yard 9 iron at 38.5* is essentially a standard 8 iron loft (not a 9). Cobra started this 25 years ago with their Greg Norman Oversize models. Titleist and Mizuno have historically done iron design aesthetics better the majority of all other manufacturers. However, thanks to the P790’s it’s no longer a two horse race… Love the content on this new channel Rick - keep it going. Thanks!!!

I just purchased another set of irons, but I wish these would have come out a few weeks sooner. I feel like these would be a lot better for me. I was able to test them at golf galaxy this week and they felt phenomenal! Great video Rick keep it up!

Love the new titleist lineup this year!! I see what you mean by the 7 iron sounding more loud, almost like a clicky sound from when I’ve hit it so far. Still a great club for a lot of students that walk through out doors. Great review as always Rick!! Can’t wait to see the t350!

Tried the t150’s and really loved them in the hitting bay. Just think I would need a little more forgiveness on course. The t200’s may fit the bill. Looking forward to the t350 review and really considering a combo set

Recently, I brought a set of AP2s and loving the feel and work ability of them. But lacking distance. After watching the T150 and this T200 review, I'm thinking maybe I should splash on some newins... damn it I'm not made of money! Hahahaha Great review Rick. Loving this H.I.T Channel. Keep it up mate

I went from an old set of ap2's to the last version of the t200's and it honestly made the game so much easier. I can still work the ball when I need to but the added distance gives me so much more confidence over certain shots

Rick! Mate get a spilt set of these and the 150s in your bag ASAP, these have been the most consistent and accurate shots I've seen you play in a while, be the golfer you are and smash #break75 chin up, move forward and never listen to haters, Guy Charnock do your job and make this happen lol

I recently bought the T-200 set (4i - 48 degree) with the stock AMT Red shafts. This set replaces a Honma TW747 irons set with Honma Vizard 63 gram graphite shafts. I hit the T-200's longer, by 15% every club. Shot dispersion is also tighter on the practice range. After this beneficial change to Titleist I replaced my entire woods arsenal from Tour Edge E722 to Titleist Tsi2 Driver through 5 hybrid. These are also performing better. My average score on my 6,800 yard home course has dropped 4 strokes. Surprisingly I was having trouble with the Vokey SM8 52, 56, 60 degree wedges, just too many unpredictable shots with duffs, shanks, etc. Changed to Taylormade High toe, which are working great. Also changed out the Costco Signature blade putter for a Taylormade TP DuPage mallet. A big improvement. Consistently sinking those 4 foot to 10 foot "knee knockers" with confidence. Me: 71 years old. 13 handicap. Play 3 rounds per week. Walk the course, push a trolley.
