Monterey is a fever dream. You get: 1.) Navy kids who will fight to the death if you say anything about their insecure-ass college. 2.) Homeless people made out of tungsten, who can and will put the fear of God and coke into you. 3.) Uber-wealthy white people who are both the nicest people on the coast and also the people most likely to steal children. 4.) Streets that are strangely clean, until you head towards Seaside, Salinas, or Alisal. And last but not least: Old-ass white guys who make knowing the history of the cannery a personality trait.

A decent chunk of the population in SD is pretty based. Basically, just the (ex) Sailors, the (ex) Marines, and the Defense Guys like Northrop or General Atomic; they live there because of work and Murcia. Also, about half the surfers and Filipinos I've met are pretty cool too. Everyone else is pretty fucking trash. but hey, our unemployment hasn't bottomed out due to COVID like the rest of y'all Better Mexican Food tho
