Fire hydrants and water lines are not built for this many and this large of fire. This is how it is in every town and city, especially residential areas. You also have the same water line being used at multiple hydrant locations in the area. The water will be used by the first hydrants on the line leaving the others dry. Usually with a fire only one or two hydrants are used not every single one on the water line. So stop blaming the city and the fire departments.

This should not be a surprise with climate change. All these results have been predicted for years. Hurricanes, floods, and typhoons in certain areas of the country, and fires in California. It is a natural progression. What is unnatural is people's refusal to accept reality, and worse, their insistence on rebuilding in the same areas. Then, the rest of the country gets hit by fewer insurance companies doing business, higher insurance rates, and less coverage. Why can't we collectively face our new reality?

The politicians didn’t push to clear the old brush in the woods which could cause wild fires by one spark. You remember years ago a homeless man started a wildfire just from dropping one cigarette. They have to clear the old brush up that’s been sitting in the woods for years. Most states clean up the old brush for this exact reason. And plus they had record rainfall last year and instead of collecting it, they drained it back in the ocean

What does it being Winter have anything to do with Global Warming? You sound like Trump. "Look how cold it is. It's cold, so there can't be global warming".. Global Warming is the average temperature of the earth's surface rising. It doesn't mean there aren't cold seasons or snowy weather.
@chdrs7 сағат бұрын
That's the whole point of global warming, irregular climate patterns cause stuff like this to happen out of season. Though for the specific issue of Cali fires, reducing emissions and clean energy won't do much (Though I do support those). We need to do controlled burns and have better maintenance of areas with lots of brush. That won't happen though because then taxes go up and people would rather take the gamble that it's not gonna be their home burnt down. Also potentially it's arson... But still better maintenance of these areas would've gone a long way to mitigate the damage.
