I am sorry but I spent 40 years of my life in California. California Abandoned its patriots. I refuse to care about a state that doesn't care about its people. I was there during the northern California fires back in 2019-2020. I remember waking up at 4am to rush to my Grandfathers house to get him out of harms way as cars and a gun stores where blowing up less than a quarter mile away. It sounded and looked like a war zone. Policies and Politics played a huge role in this, why for those of you that don't understand, because its illegal to burn brush for some silly environmental BS. Let California burn, its a necessary evil that for an appropriate cleansing. Yes its tragic, but the status quo doesn't change until something tragic happens. To me this is WAY different than a hurricane, or tornado that we have "less" control over. This tragedy was man made and likely happening to people that voted for it. I left California 2 years ago but would still be living their if it was worth a damn, its not, let it burn. (No I am not advocating people being harmed, I want people to wake up and understand that their actions and their votes matter, and a series of decisions has let them to this tragedy). I realize this lacks empathy, but I lived this first hand and I know that its a politically made problem, they get no sympathy from me. Fix your sh*t California, vote these liberals out or suffer the consequences like you are now. You are reaping what you sow.

I made my kids order their own food at restaurants, tell the doctor why they were there, check in their own luggage at airports etc as soon as they were old enough. They are now 22 yo and have far better social skills than a lot of their peers.

People don't realize; California has proposition 13 that doesn't raise property tax high (2% tops a year). So people have been paying very cheap property tax for years. Now, their houses have burned down and if they rebuild property tax will explode. They want this. Million dollar homes were paying 1-3k a year because of this. That would skyrocket to 30-50k per year.

There are very smart people that get paid more than most can fathom who help plan these events with a much bigger picture in mind. No, he keeps him around because having dissenting viewpoint stimulates deeper dialogue. PBD definitely keeps him in check but also has enough sense to try to give him enough space to speak his mind because Adam does represent the viewpoint of a lot of people like him. It's actually very smart and part of why this podcast is so successful. Conflict and conflict resolution is the key to making anything entertaining whether that's a TV show, a movie or a podcast.

When Trump came here after the fire the only thing people heard was that he said the name of our city wrong. I heard the important part, “deforestation”.
