You know what they say, If you can't talk about it then you still have a problem with it. Talking about it helps other people as well to know that someone else has been threw that same experience too. It helps them feel less lonely and like someone actually understands what their going threw because they've also live it and aren't scared to talk about it. I think that you do come out the other side a different person and some people never come out the other side. I think it makes you stronger once you realized that's not what you want and no way to live anymore. I also think its a trap that many people never escape. Its good to show people that I did it and you can too. I wish we would do more to combat drugs at the source. why don't we spend some of that 198billion dollars of tax money this next 4 years to partner with our brothers and sisters in Mexico to take down some of this stuff. I lost a lot of friend to drugs some living some dead for real as well as family.

I love this show. My ex-husband was not in the military, but he had a horrible life, and he died from opioid addiction in prison. He never knew his kids. All he had were his demons. I was raised by Military officers and Vietnam Vets, Korean and WWII Vets, and WWI. When we were growing up and on base, our dad would tell us to sit down, be quiet, and listen so we might learn something. And I did learn a lot listening to these guys talking. They barely noticed us, and when they did, they would always apologize because we were little girls. I remember telling them they have nothing to apologize for. The WWI Veteran said to the other men, "I signed that piece of paper, and I went voluntarily, so I have nothing to complain about. I did this to myself." And I never forgot that. Every one of us has our demons to deal with in this life. It doesn't matter how we got them, whether our actions brought them upon us or someone in our family brought them upon us. None of that matters. What matters is learning through Jesus and being accountable for ourselves. With Jesus, we can face all demons. Demons are everywhere, always in the mind, in suits, in the churches, on the stage, in politics, in war, and at home. They are everywhere. Always.

Amen! I've noticed a lot of people believe demons are only a figurative manner of speech rather than actual, destructive beings. Or worse yet, they fall for their tricks, not understanding that demons require a payment of sorts. To the trolls who want to scoff while discussing 'sky daddy' or 'fairy tales', I've heard it all, so skip on by what I'm sure would be an intellectually lazy retort. 😏

Amen. Demons are everywhere, but they are the losers. They have lost the war when Christ fulfilled his promises (and more to be fulfilled). Those with Christ are protected, those not with Christ have a chance to be apart of the family of God. Just have faith and trust Christ. Otherwise, the demons will control your life and your flesh will reign. Keep sharing your testimony. It is impactful and you know a lot that can help others!

Danny Dietz's father reading off the autopsy out loud was deep. I've witnessed trauma and casualties over GWOT, but never thought about how traumatic that event is for a mother or father to read out loud. I was a medic and I've always separated myself from a situation and avoided internalizing a a casualty. I would assume other medic/corpsman felt the same way. I don't want to know about their history, families, look at photos, or know their "why" after the event. I just focus on training that becomes muscle memory from repitition in training. When it's someone you know like a close friend or family member, it's impossible to avoid it. Being a father now, my little ones are growing fast, but I still refer to them as my babies. I was saying I had a newborn at home and my girl was almost three lol. They make me wish that time would slow down. I'm sure the gold star parents felt the same way and now their lives are changed forever.

My wife is a respiratory physio working on ICU. During COVID she was front and centre. She had a similar issue where she was expected to host face time chats with patient relatives as they were unable to come to hospital to see their sedated, ventilated relative. She developed a closeness to these family, which then often resulted in the loss of the patient. She was never trained for that. Was unable to distance herself. This affected them all massively. She is doing well now, but it has taken a lot of counselling. Most have left the profession.

I just responded to your short on this subject. OxyContin was originally only prescribed for end of life pain. I had no issue at that point, and I was working in the industry. Serious concerns arose for me when the product was moved into the back pain side of the industry. I was there in that initial phase, and I removed myself promptly without regret. There is no justification in my heart or mind for this kind of abuse of authority.

Thank you for your show Sean. This may sound really weird but I’ve come to see your platform as some kind of balm for my soul. I’ve suffered PTSD since I was a young child…lots and lots of trauma from childhood abuse…both of a sexual and physical nature. I’m tough though, but have been drugged by psychiatrists my whole life. Covid was my wake up and I’ve managed to wean off all chemical drugs. Using only natural, plant based medicine. 🙏🏽✨I’ve healed from the inside out, the physical, emotional and mental pain are falling away. Listening to all the soldiers that come on your show has healed my broken heart. I love your whole community. Your courage is infectious! God bless you and your beautiful wife and children. 🙏🏽✨ May God keep you safe. 🙏🏽

Man…. This one hit hard. One of the best podcasts ever. I was in Class 236 during 9/11 , so when you two brought it up it just took me back. And hearing everyone’s name just makes you wonder what would’ve been. And the pure honesty from both on you was some of the most raw that I’ve ever heard in an interview. Pete (and Pratt) make me think that just maybe ALL of Hollywood doesn’t needs to burn. And I have NEVER heard anyone talk about how hard it is to transition from an eager civilian to a sword of the country and then back to… whatever this is. Thanks Shawn and keep it up man. Before i listen, i want to say I've read lone survivor, and watched the movie. Kudos to this director. I can say i wish i wouldn't have done any digging and found out Marcus's story was a lie. The book really helped me through some dark times in my life. The "don't ever give up" attitude was what i needed to read about,so im grateful for one breath and really disappointed on the next.

@NavyDocHM314 күн бұрын
@@Buckeyes1974 I cannot speak for the person you are asking this question to, but from what I can surmise is the following: • Seth Hettena and Brent Taylor have challenged Marcus’ story labeling it “misleading and propaganda”. • Mr. Hattena is a former Delta Operator; He had criticized Marcus Luttrell for allegedly “fame and profit over American and military values.” If I recall correctly his comments have been on “The AntiHero Podcast”. • Mr. Seth Hettena: is a journalist and author. He has investigated some “irregularities” in Marcus’ story of what transpired during his ordeal. I'm not sure if he is a veteran or not. That's just what I've heard. I personally do not believe he has lied- I'm just stating what I have heard
@russellridge862314 күн бұрын
Marcus admitted on a show with Rob O ‘Neal the Navy wrote the whole story. He could save face and go with their lie or be a fake hero and make millions. Out of his own mouth. Corresponds exactly with version told by by Rangers and SF operators who were sent to find team and clean up mess.

He joined the CA groups and has 9ver 15 years clean now. He helped many others, and said that out of so many that come to CA, the only ones he saw really recover were the ones who really found faith in Jesus. The higher power nonsense doesn't have any power. Seek and ye shall find, ask and it will be given, knock and the door will be opened unto you... Sending love and hugs your way.
