Crunchy is probably the best chocolate bar ever invented and i'll fight anyone who disagrees 😋 Also Jaffa Cakes are dangerous for your waistline (if you like orange/chocolate combo) - you're not eating one or two, the whole pack at once is not an uncommon experience hehehe EDIT: BTW your American Smarties look VERY similar to our "Love Hearts" sweets! - can't confirm if they are the same as not tried US version but they do look alike.

We have these Jaffa Cakes in Germany. I really liked them as a kid. I always ate the chocolate first, then take the filling off, eat the sponge cake and after that i would eat the filling. I don't know if i am the only one, but i always ate them that way :D

That’s exactly how I used to eat them as well😂 The orange jelly is the best part, you’ve gotta save best ‘til last👍

I had no idea Jaffa Cakes were even known that well outside the UK, let alone being a part of another country's culture! 😲 Germans like orange+chocolate confirmed! 😄

There was a HUGE court case involving Jaffa Cakes years ago, the government had a higher tax on biscuits as opposed to cakes. They actually defined what differences are between cakes and biscuits, a cake is soft when fresh and hardens when stale, a biscuit is hard when fresh and softens when stale.

@@californianreacts Just quickly dip into tea or coffee or you might just find it falling into your drink! Other biscuits that are harder can withstand a little longer dip (or dunk) but as they are spongy/chocolaty they can't take much tea/coffee. Better still just eat them as they are then have your tea/coffee 😃

From the reactors I've watched, USA seems to have a problem with orange flavour with their chocolate. They are probably just not used to it but I've even seen a couple spit out Jaffa Cakes in disgust! Utter sacrilege if you ask me.

I still like "A finger of fudge is just enough" from Cadburys. Even though in the 1970s, the small Cadburys Fudge bar was aimed at parents cutting down on their kids sweets.

Crunchie, Aero, Maltesers, Wine Gums, and Smarties (the non-US style - M&Ms were copied from Smarties) are available in just about every corner store in Canada. What are called Smarties in the US are called Rockets in Canada.

Kit Kat was created in York England and first sold in 1920, with the US only getting them in 1940. Wine Gums were created as part of the temperance movement as an alternative to Alcohol.

You guessed right - we do have Kit Kats in the UK. Afterall, they were first produced here in the 1930s! I rarely eat chocolate now and if I do, I'm actually a bit of a chocolate snob. I only eat high cocoa count chocolate (like 70% and above). But back in the day I loved all Galaxy chocolate, finding it richer and creamier than Cadbury's.

What McVities describe as "that smashing orange bit" inside a Jaffa Cake, is NOT jam - it's just an orange flavoured jelly. Advice: Don't even think about 'dunking' a Jaffa Cake in your brew! If you do, three things will happen: 1) The chocolate will melt, causing your tea or coffee to stop tasting like tea or coffee 🤨 2) The sponge will transform into a kind of sludge that just sinks to the bottom of your cup 🥴 3) The 'smashing orangey bit will somehow pass through a galactic worm hole and disappear, presumably into an alternate universe! 😵‍💫

These are GREAT choices in my mind. LOVE Maltesers, Crunchies, and Chunky Kit-Kat's are SO addictive !! As you mentioned, the UK Kit-Kat's taste SO MUCH BETTER than the US ones which have that strange, plastic chocolate that you can peel off the wafer, ugh !! Smarties from memory as smaller than M&M's but the chocolate again is WAY better. The UK is definitely WAY AHEAD of the US in terms of sweets (candy), biscuits (cookies), and crisp varieties and flavours (chips.)

@@marydavis5234 It is not jelly, marmalade has very similar texture to jelly/jam but it is not jelly/jam, trust me i lived 100 meters from MacFarlane Laings and have even been inside the factory for a tour and they themselves said it was marmalade (not that i needed to be told because everybody already knew it). For once just trust someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

Smarties predate M&Ms they were created in 1937 here, one of the makers of M&M I can't remember which M it was came to the UK found them and took the idea back to the US, launching them in 1941. They taste different sure, but M&Ms are a big seller even have M&M world in London

British treats. Sugar, awful chocolate and chemicals.

You're describing American treats matey, the UK has very strict laws on using chemicals and shit in their food and drinks. That is why the UK have far less nutjobs...no crap in our food and drink. I mean America pumps anti-biotics into their cattle...enough said.
@gavingiant6900
@gavingiant6900 Жыл бұрын
You have messed up which country has alot of these these. America puts way more sugar and chemicals in their treats. Sugar is taxed heavily in our treats (UK), so companies put less of it in them. Most treats from the States are banned in Europe because of the type of chemicals that are in them (ones that can cause cancer etc), they can be sold here if they are taken out. We do put some chemicals in our treats, but there has to be a warning on the packet with side effects listed. The reason real Cadbury's chocolate isn't really allowed to be sold in the States is because it is better. Also we don't put a chemical in our chocolate that is found in vomit that makes the chocolate taste abit like it too (Hersey's chocolate).
