Don't forget the K2s on the Rotems and F125s. A backup K3LA on 926, and a backup K3L on 929.

Its because the FRA is requiring diesel engines on both ends of the consist for safety reasons. They figured the locomotive would better protect the train crew from accidents. And the reason for them using BNSF units? Metrolink is renting them out.
