Holy Hell! That solo was refreshing!! I love the original, it was simplistic and masterful and full of the mood of the song. But Josh has made it his own and I LOVE this!!! I hope Josh took that type of approach to the new tracks as well!

They couldn't have possibly found anyone more perfect for the job than Josh. He might be different, but remember he's the guy playing most of the guitar and keys on John's solo works! Also Josh does a ton of vocals on the Solo albums too.

@lobmo How does Josh do "most of the guitar work" on JF's solo? Except for a few solos Josh does, John does all his own guitar work. Same with backing vocals- John mostly does his own harmonies with a few exceptions.

And they called themselves Audioslave because they were making DIFFERENT music, not to cover both of their previous respective bands' music (though they did a handful of times, but that's not the point).

But dudes right, they improvise, and also try to stay in sync with there ear buds.... which sometimes means to skip words... or adding new better lyrical quotes throughout

@MuhaO You cannot say music is about feelings, for some it is, for me it'\s also for a big part about the feelings expressed with the music, but it's all about opinion, music can have a different meaning for everyone. As for as far as the concert goes: I think Josh did a great job, but I have to agree I do not feel the same emotions expressed like John Frusciante did, but there aren't many guitarists that can do that the way JF did...

Sorry but i cant. At first i was like " Yeah Josh will be good ! No problem ! " And when i hear Californication, i feel like i miss something. Josh is a great guitarist, a great musician, but imo they shouldnt play the previous songs. John was too much in thoses songs.

And i dont feel the same emotions when i listen to this live, and when i listen to the Slane live or any other lives with John.
