Appreciate the breakdown, I never see anyone talking about this show. It’s my favorite show of all time. My comfort show I watch when I just need to chill

Absolutely, this show is a perfect balance of laid back comedic elements paired with great emotional heft at times. Perfect chill day vibes

keep it up man! I love the show and I`ve been trying to find commentary videos that diverges from the "how to become an alpha male" terrifying niche forever!

I love this show!! I'm so happy to find someone not only who watches this show, but also appreciates the same things that I do about it! A lot of it I don't like, such as some of the humor, but even then most of the time it reminds me of my parents and how they were when i was little. I found this show pretty much on accident because I had just finished the x-files and wanted to see something else that David Duchovny was in, he's such a great actor! And also my father suggested I watch it. So many great characters, stories, and fantastic writing with this show! I really love it so much. And above all, theres just something about this show really resonates with me, and especially the relationship Becca has with her dad. I could go on, but I don't wanna dump my personal life in your comments :p I'm gonna go binge all your videos on this ahh!! THank you so much for talking about this very special little show :)

Also really important is this vision that Hank has of being on the pool, seeing Karen, Becca and being completely lost about the whole situation

If you had to sum up Californication in one show, Mia Culpa would be it. That episode is truly a cross section of the entire series. You get to see Hank and Karen happy together, the Hank and Becca dynamic, and Hank’s self destructive nature. And the poignant Rocket Man playing at the end really captures the moment. With that said, Mia Culpa is not my favorite episode. That honor goes to The Last Waltz. I’m a sucker for happy endings, and when Karen jumped in the car with Hank and Becca, true love reigned supreme. Don’t stop making the videos, they keep Californication alive.

great video, keep it up. I assumed this video had at least 10k views while watching it, pretty surprised to see it has under 100.

also, I totally agree that Becca got kinda worse as the series progressed, I get that they wanted to convey that she was going through some stupid teen phase but they could have done better imo

I previously had them up on my main channel but I'm using it more for Gaming centric going forward. They had a bit more views there. Also thank you for checking out the content much appreciated :)

I've always thought this was the best episode of this show. I do think the best scene though is the end ending of it. Cutting the sound and replacing it with music was perfect. You don't need to hear the conversation, you know exactly what they are saying word for word during that scene even though you can't hear it. It made it so much more emotional and to see him get arrested in front of his kid was heartbreaking. He was so close to "happiness" but couldn't escape his mistakes. Hank in general is a tragic character but I'm sure others would disagree.

I think it's the best episode because it's the payoff to a 3 season build. I think the manager should have told him to become Mia's ghost writer instead.

He hates himself, so much, that it’s hard to love. That’s my theory.

Seasons 1-3 were amazing, it fell off after that and particularly once season 4 hit the court room. Once Karen found out about Mia it was over so as far as I go it’s a 3 season show with a perfect ending, the rest doesn’t count. I’ll agree this is the best episode as well.
@StrokeofDadJokes3 ай бұрын
Also note the reason Hank didn’t compromise is he couldn’t. From episode 1 this was the one thing Karen couldn’t find out. It was the end it happened. To say he should have compromised misses that point.
