In north Watford (north of London) in the 1950s there was a factory called Yeatmans which produced a product known as 'Sunny Spread'. On the roof was a huge horn shaped (to me) like a giant spider. I was told that it came off the old Mauretania scrapped prior to WWII.

Can you imagine your sailing your ship through the North Atlantic and have had to stop because a large cloud of mist has rolled in making it too dangerous to keep going. Suddenly three horns echo eerily from the mist as you run out onto the boat deck as three large shapes emerge from the mist. You watch in awe as the RMS Titanic, RMS Olympic and the HMS Britannic smoothly sail past. They are that close you can see ghostly passengers and crew wandering their decks as the ships then disappear back into the mist and as quickly as the mist rolled in it disappears.

Yea, but they were tested with air pressure instead of steam at only about a quarter power for fear of damaging them. Her whistles probably sounded quite a bit different when they were actually in use.
