Same lack of logic keeping wizards from using machine guns against the Death Eaters. Wouldn't work long-term, but for an ambush where they have no time to block you could mow down a lot, plus the giants and spiders

@@TheGreatDearLeaderJimPickens A sniper rifle would have ended Voldemort's threat in literally an instant. The moment he appears in public; *Boom, Headshot!* from over a mile away and the threat is over. He'd never see it coming.

@@TheGreatDearLeaderJimPickens They also never use really good spells like Petrificous Totalus again. Only the one time on Nevil. Wouldn't that be handy for capturing? So, yeah. When you think back across the entire HP universe... there is a lot of lack of logic, even if you just stick to the magical side. Also, CinemaSins pointed out that the Baselisk can be killed by a rooster's cry according to that paper Hermione had... so... why no rooster? That would have been SO much easier.
