Not cutting all of the milkweed is what I call being a good dad. I remember doing that with my kids when they were that age. Good memories. Enjoy all the time you can with them because they grow up way to fast.

What a ride its been, nearly as exciting as Between the Rows, when you guys had that terrible weather and the damage to the old garage, with all the damage to the equipment, it was heart breaking. To see the repairs, the new garage, the new grain bin, its great! Here's wishing you all the best in the construction!

Yup, had that on a Ford, all the fluid is in the brake servo....or booster as you guys call it. Had that happened a couple of times, no brakes at all on a 70's Ford. You just need another brake master cylinder.
@MegaGeorge1948
@MegaGeorge1948 Жыл бұрын
Hi Zack. If your Scottsdale brake slave cylinders and brake lines are dry and your are still losing fluid, you may want to check the rear seal on your master cylinder where the brake push rod from the master cylinder mounts on through the vacuum power brake canister. You do this by removing the master cylinder from the vacuum canister and looking inside the vacuum canister. If there is brake fluid in it (most likely on the bottom), or the back of your master cylinder is wet with fluid, then you have found the source of your fluid loss and you will have to replace the rod seal or replace your master cylinder if it is old and crusty.

I worked with a Company named, " Ranch & Farms Agra Systems " out of Nebraska, I believe ? Many years ago, and we built many, a grain silo ! What you can't appreciate here, is the noise that several impact guns make while inside a silo under construction ! Brought back some good memories, from which I was many years younger ! But don't let anyone tell you it's not work ! Many long Hot days, and too short nights !

On the classic truck, if you're losing brake fluid but it isn't dripping onto the ground, it may be leaking back into the vacuum booster, which will eventually ruin it.

Harvestorer silos were build using the jack process. Screw Jacks were bolted to 1st ring in concrete, tied together by drive shafts, powered by a pneumatic motor driven by a big air compressor. Glass laminated steel sheets sealed with what looked like an asphalt cement, bolted together and torqued. Worked building'em briefly during the early 60s. Largest I remember was a 35' by 85' air-tight.

In your Chevy truck, the brake fluid probably leaked out the back of the master cylinder, into the brake booster. Remove the master cylinder from the booster, and it’s probably a wet mess in there.

Way back (late 70's) when I was in college, worked a couple of summers putting up bins. Bigger than this one, most were 100 feet in diameter. Traveled from Illinois to Washington state, North Dakota to southern Texas. Worked sun-up to sun-down 12-14 days straight at a site, had 5-6 days off. Paid $20/hr first 40/week on the clock rest in cash. Paid for 2 years of college.

Check the carpet under the drivers side, as well as the firewall on the squarebody! If it's vacuum boosted make sure it didn't leak into the booster. Check the passenger side carpet as well, for a leaky heater core while you're in there.

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. You new grain bin is a big one. Wow. Thanks for showing us how they build the bin and how the rings go in from the bottom up. Interesting. Good crew doing that. Will be nice when it is all done. The service work you did on the bush hog mower worked out good. Really knocks down the weeds and small brush. Your new sprayer and spray trailer work great together. Makes spraying a lot easier. Thanks for everything Zach. Really like your new bin setup. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.

@MillennialFarmer On your orange pickup, since the brake fluid is missing and there is no sign of external leak, it is very likely that is has all gone inside of the break booster. I would remove the vacuum line from the booster and dip something in through hole and see if it comes out wet. If it does then you know the booster failed and that is where your fluid went. You would then need to replace the booster with a new one.

I couldn't even count how many 1973-1987 chevy trucks I have owned throughout the years. If your truck has old or original rubber brake hoses you definitely want to replace them. The hoses always swell shut where the ends are crimped on and also where the attachment bracket in the middle is. The first thing I do when I drive any of those trucks is to start them up and put them in gear while holding the brakes. When the hoses are swollen shut there will be a delay when releasing the brakes almost like a line lock. When I cut apart the old hoses I can't even get a piece of .030 tig rod through the area with the crimp.
