There’s no way! I just spent an hour stabbing so many knives so many times into the painting because I thought it needed four or so daggers in it, not a specific one. I wish it gave some clue to make that dagger seem more obvious. For instance if they made it so that when you inspected it before touching the painting your character could say something about how it seemed more important than the other daggers, or seemed to hold a different or some kind of power. But only if you had a proffedional tier “occultism”. Instead it misleads you into thinking you need multiple daggers. It doesn’t give you an incentive to look all over the room for other daggers until hours have passed of you trying to do something that doesn’t work and doesn’t help you.

I don't know if i'm too late with this, but behind the painting there is a drawing of the specific dagger you have to use, you have to pick up that drawing before you go to painting.

@@willEMG0905 I’ve beaten the game three times since watching this video…nah you ain’t late! Hahah!! 😭😭😭😭 (I’m sad because I’m those play through a I tried to find something that gave me a reason to grab that knife, but never thought to look behind the painting. Why? Because I’d ALREADY GONE BEHIND IT TWICE IN MY FIRST PLAYTHROUGH AND SOMEHOW MISSED THAT! I’m such an idiot
