@@seanmoore4653 COD 2 was my first ever COD I've played when I was a wee baby... The following 5 years is me playing COD 1 and United Offensive, I like those two games... But I felt like COD 2 has more impact to the combat ambience than in COD 1, although I would disagree... There's just not many people playing COD 1 due to it being outdated in graphics, but COD 2's graphic is still holds well in current era so I guess it's why I often mention COD 2 more than COD 1 and United Offensive.

Somehow Russian campaign in CoD2 felt more apocalyptic than the in one World at War. I know, i'm weird. I can't explain this myself.

You are right. Stalingrad in Call of Duty: World at War looks like an undestroyed city. In CoD 2 the city is much more destroyed and covered with snow, time has stopped there. A deadly Russian winter reigns in the streets. Both Russian and German soldiers are forced to fight in 30- and 40-degree cold. The most interesting thing is that this is pure history.

@@TukyVideo Yes! In general, in the first parts of Call of Duty, the emphasis was on combat. You were an ordinary soldier at the front, your goals were as simple as possible: kill or be killed. Yes, situations and locations changed, but no additional storylines did not distract you. It made you feel more connected to the world around you, exploring and feeling it. That was my experience.

The older cods always had attention to detail but not just the PS2 ones. There's great ambient sound effects from cod4 to probably MW3 or BO2 after that the maps and missions are almost completely silent

Is it only me that I only feel an actual sense of dread, fear, resentment, and wonder about how the world once was and how terrifyingly tragic these wars were and how blessed we are to not be in that frigid tundra or any other campaign fighting to the death; that these characters feel like real men you watch bleed out and blow up and die before your eyes? I can't think of any single modern game that conveys this, maybe it's just me.

This game have a eerie asthetic to it, I always felt something is off when i play this game as a kid... specially in the empty MP maps. to be honest i still get creeps playing this game. a forgotten masterpiece.

Cringey, but I used to hear this all are the time as a kid The only internet we had was ethernet, so I could only go online on my dad's computer. This was at like, 9 or 10 maybe (born in '98).I had a PS2, and since I was still a kid and I didn't have access to real multiplayer, I would crawl around the multiplayer maps by myself, pretending I was like, lost behind enemy lines by myself or something. This was pretty much the only sound that played on those maps so, lol.
