Still wish this game has the panzerfaust and pistols in the regular campaign missions. I used to play missions over and o we as a kid searching every corner of the map in search of those weapons. Big red one and finest hour were the best cod games ever made imo by far.

They're all actually correct BAR is one of the weapons that can be reloaded any ways first 1. Pull the bolt first then swap the mags and done 2. Swap mags then pull the bolt and done 3. Pull out the mag, pull back the bolt, insert new mag, push or don't push the bolt and it will fire The only error is the bolt staying at the back of the gun while shooting or moving whenever it fires when it should stay still Still wanna know why BAR is so amazing despite the many reload animations? Because it's designed by none other than John Browning

This game has a more impressive variety of weapons than some modern shooters. Let that sink in. I really love how "crunchy" and satisfying the weapon sounds are, and the animations are awesome for 2005. This was also back when the devs cared about historical accuracy and gave factions the right weapons, not like COD WWII where you had Germans using Soviet guns on the Western Front. The French guns like the Chatellerault and MAS-38 were only obtainable in the one mission where you fought Vichy French forces. This is a cool game. I wish they still made games like this anymore.

I like to think the devs got lazy with COD WW2 and when crunch time hit they had to shove the Soviet gun into the placement of the G43 due to the time limit. If I'm not mistaken, the G43 was actually one of the first guns to be released following the game's launch, which I think suggests that the devs had it ready, but there was something wrong or time played a part. If I was a dev after launch I'd probably would fix it. With or without the companies consent.

@@declangaming24 To correct you... there weren't too many Soviet weapons seeing action on the European Fronts the Axis Powers were fighting. So an Axis soldier using a foreign weapon no one had time to properly convert to their standard ammo is basically saying: "You have this weapon, and only a little bit of ammo with it. You run out? Die or pick up another weapon and hope there's ammo in it." That or it's a way of saying that soldier is temporary and they weren't giving said soldier a more reliable weapon. One of my family that fought in that war, a German, was issued a Japanese rifle instead of a typical German weapon. Why? They only saw him as a temporary roadblock for the Allied faction closing in on them. He lived. Far outlived any predictions and ammo for the weapon. To this day, I will never understand why he has a weapon he had no business using. Or how the Axis Powers got Japanese weapons in the first place. To my knowledge, they weren't really allies so much as just the enemy-of-my-enemy-is-my-friend. Like the Allied Powers and the Soviets during WWII. Anyway, he's just 1 of 2 special cases out of 9 members of my family that fought and lived during that war. 4 others died during combat. From beginning to end.

I wish more WW2 campaigns could feature different factions like this game did with Vichy France and Italy We don't see these factions very often (before Big Red One i think the only game with the Vichy France soldiers was Medal of Honor Underground in 2000) Too bad the Free French Army is only in multiplayer tho

Italian faction at least appear in some games: Enlisted, Medal of Honor Allied assault, Vanguard and AIrborne, Battlefield 1942, Ruse, COH 3 etc but Vichy France or rather France in general is very overlooked

For a PlayStation 2 and Xbox title the reloads are actually very well animated for the time and I'm impressed with the attention to detail on several of them. The BAR reload with the operator's hand slipping is a really cool detail new games just don't seem to add anymore.
