For me, this game sparked a life long interest in world war 2 with all of its history channel footage between missions. It was a very well made game for its time and it still is. I was always excited to share locations of battles and minor details i would try to memorize to my father. I was just a kid then, and pretty soon my own kids will be playing video games and ill try to do what my father did and introduce them to a game like this that was fun, intense, action packed, and actually taught us lessons regarding tragic loss and heroic sacrifice. And that theme song certainly stirs up some good old patriotic emotion.

I'm the same, this game started my WW2 studies and I've never stopped since then. This game gave me alot of good memories and I'm so happy I picked up a near mint condition copy of it to play on my 360 ❤️

I couldn't agree more! I was a kid playing this on my gamecube, and I've never forgotten it. This game to 9 year old me was incredible. The Military channel footage made you feel like you were getting reports from your commander on what your next mission was. The commradrey you build with your squad: Hawkins, Bloomfield, Kelly, and Denley. Talk about traumatizing what happened to Denley. I was yelling with anger, and tears in my eyes running in to blast all the nazis, had to pause the game after, and take a moment. I used to imagine myself being the driver for the stuart mission, and the commander yelling at me for not being in my halftrack. So many amazing memories with this game. Games today just aren't the same anymore...

I used to draw the weapons I collected in the game and tape them to my wall as a kid as "trophies" of when I was playing the game. I remember being 5 years old playing this. Listening to it now I wish I was young again. Miss my great uncle Ralph. he had WW2 stories of his own and he passed when I was 8. The old man got me off soda pop and hooked me onto water, probably the greatest health tip I've ever gotten

I find this track and this cover from this game not only brings in the nostalgia factor from my childhood getting into world war 2 more as a result of understanding and studying in my free time but also during times where I am not feeling my best mentally or emotionally this song is a good pick me up, especially those beginning instrumentals.

This game, together with Call of Duty 3 on the original XBOX, with an image book about D-Day, was most likely the things that got me interested in WW2 history. It's more than 10 years ago at this point, and I haven't been able to play the game in a long while, but it still gives me the chills. One of the most influential games I have ever enjoyed.

They definitely don't make them like this anymore. When Call of Duty was a game of soldiers with an immersive story about your character answering the call and fighting for his country. Now its about dressing up and sliding around with bright purple guns that have ridiculous attachments.

I remember the WWII games from the early 2000s, would have archived footage of the European and Pacific front each time you'd complete a part of the campaign. It was awesome and definitely got many of us into US history.

Uma música relaxante, que não traz, pelo menos para mim, um sentimento de glória, romantizando a guerra... Nunca esquecerei meus tempos em que era criança, nunca esquecerei de como o mundo era muito melhor naquela época. (A relaxing song, which doesn't bring, at least for me, a feeling of glory, romanticizing the war... I'll never forget my times when I was a kid, I'll never forget how much better the world was back then.).

Me and my father visited Normandy 10 years ago, and we stumbled across a small museum in a barn. It was dedicated to the men and history of the Fighting First Infantry Division. While it lacked size and scope, it had depth and respect. Lo and behold to my surprise, it even had a copy of COD 2 Big Red One. Hope you're holding up okay Bloomfield😭
