Ah, yes, one of the first CoD games made by Treyarch, and it shows. It's also one of the few PS2 games left to still have a working online multiplayer to this day.

Can you tell me how to get framerates like you did? I have a 1060 6g, 16g of ram, and an amd ryzen 5 1400. Can't get over 30 fps after nessing with setting in this game and COD 3.

CPU at ? how much ghz ? U need to get over 4ghz. Thats where im at and still stutters around 45-60 fps. SO its not a good experience. Also if id be u, id try the GC versions on Dolphin 5.0 or the newest versions. 5.0 is the full. Ill do that cause i didnt played these games. Well i did play COD 2 on PC but that was like a diff. game. I dont remember this first lvl of the game there. So yeah, its worth my time to try it out and report. That those settings he has are BS, cause he plays in SW mode. so AF and mipmap cant be active at all. He has just a good ocd cpu, thats why hes able to get those good fps, but i guarantee u that hes cpu usage is around 60% ish. I had with my ocd 4ghz cpu around 85% usage and it struggled maintaining 50fps so he must be higher with his oc. Thats the whole secret why he has smooth sw mode gameplay. So i checked ur cpu basically the same as he has, only diff. is if u havent ocd urs, well at 3.2 or 3.4 u wont get near that performance he has. U need at least 4ghz or more if u can. I can guarantee the fps will go up. I dont know if ull hit 60 but its worth a try if u can OC. Also if not, get the GC version and play it on Dolphin, i think itll do fine, well i hope so anyway. GL, and yes i noticed its 2 months old post. still maybe u still want this help. Who knows. If u have questions or something to add. just respond to this ill see it . i think if not ill still come back in a day or two, if nothings here, then ill just assume u moved on. Ill help anyone who wants or needs it btw. If someone happens to be here.

if you are using the emulator, try using Software engine instead of hardware or opposite... that fixed my problem!

how did you manage to get yours to run so smooth? when i try to boot it up there's graphical issues in the main menu where I can barely see what options I'm choosing. And then when the gameplay starts there's an audio issue as well as the game running really slow.

@@kaipacifica1289 do u use the newest 1.5 PCSx2 ? Im using that right now and no game that i played so far gave me probles, can play 4k, GT4 cant it goes over 6gb vram :) in certain tracks etc. Anyway, i can check this out and maybe report back here ? :) btw he plays software. If u have powerful enough cpu it could make the diff. cause there cpu is what u need the quicker the better. If u want to play most of the ps2 games decently without worrying too much, suggest go for something with 4ghz and at least 4cores. That way ensuring that every game will run thats compatible with PCSX2. Cause there are a few games that u wont be able to launch now no matter what u do. And som which work only on opengl properly, or without graphical issues. Most games work on dx11 no problem but there are some. Like for example Just Cause, textures messed up in dx11, open gl everythings great except for the fps, but thats jsut dependent on the cpu. i guess. Cause I try to let my gpu get the harder work, but sometimes its still not enough. SO ive messed around to get smooth 60 and found out that in JC u need to (if u have a weaker cpu, still 4ghz etc. but earlier gen.) adjust BUC Blending unit acuracy to basic or medium and ull get pretty much smooth 1080p, but the cost is mostly the faces of them characters, not that theres much to look at anyaway. So its worth it. But it works only with Open GL. Ill try CoD and ill get back to this post. Ok i did try it, 40-60 fps, its not nice. Still broken graphics at anything then software. Hm. yea those settings are BS u can have basic mipmapping cause its for hardware modes only, not software. What he has here, clocked cpu around 4.5ghz my guess is, cause i have a similar cpu at 4ghz and as i was saying there are places that i can get 60 fps, but mostly around 45-50, above 50 i consider it playable, but well when it drops, its over. Also Anisotropic is also ONLY for HW modes, not software. Its a shame he doesnt respond, doesnt help at all. Cause if he said only like my cpu is 4.5ghz. In this case it doesnt matter its 4c/8t, only what matters for pcsx2 is the efficiency of the individual cores. In this case his are clocked higher then mine, so hes got more smooth gameplay. HW modes are broken tested them, so in other words, if u want to enjoy it, either buy a ps2, play it on ps3 if u have one of those which support backwards compatibility with ps2 games. Theres a video of it i think on yt. Or OC ur CPU to i think it depends on the age and perf of said cpu to i think at least 4ghz, but more is always better. And u might just cut the 60fps limit. For me its a no go, like with COD 3. But maybe its time to get myself the gamecube versions. I know they ran shit, like on dolphin 4. something, so maybe in dolphin 5 its fixed and it can be run. Ill certainly try it, maybe today. Maybe day after if im feeling up to it. See videos for those version on yt. They run better still and not on sw. But hw accel. and dont have those graphic. glitches. Either buy urself copies or do whatever u want to get urself them so ucan play these games. LOok quite ok, for their age. also nostalgia kicked in. So ill definitely will play them if nothing else on GC. I suggestfor all of u do the same. If u want to play it on poorer quality and with a cpu thats ocd high, u then have no choice but to go for GC versions.

@@everx7 Thanks for replying! I'm using 1.4 PCSx2 that I downloaded around the 18th of last month. I'll check for update and report back.. (update edit)... PCSx2 lists version 1.4 as most up-to-date. Yes, action and dialogs in-game are running at around 50%... slight slow motion effect and everyone sounds like they suffered severe strokes. I'm wondering if PCSx2 is trying to use my integrated graphics intel chip instead of my GTX 1070 card? Maybe?

Running in hardware mode will gives a heavy glitches so software mode is needed. The alternative way is try to run it on your actual PS2 console.
