Best year of gaming was 2007, HL2 Episode 2, Team Fortress 2, Halo 3 and Cod 4 were all made in that year and they are all amazing. For Nintendo standards, I think all their games are great.

Jackmerius Tacktheritrix Sledgehammer originally were making a vietnam call of duty but cancelled it and created mw3 for infinity ward. They already did work and apparently had a good story but for many reasons had to cut it (not sure). They made a mess of mw3 too. If infinity ward focused on it like mw1 and 2 then it could have been way better.

This was my first time ever playing an online game EVER. Be it console or PC. I got this when I was 8, never played anything online as I only had a gamecube, lived in a small rural town of about 800-900 people, and nobody had any gaming consoles. I was considered a "rich kid" from my classmates for having an older gamecube in 2007 haha. Then I went to a cousins house who lived in Chicago in the burbs. I remember walking into his bedroom, he was sitting in front of the playstation with a headset on and talking into it, and I remember being confused but then making the connection: He's playing with other people and talking to them, HOW!?!?!? After the day was over, my father said he would buy me "that d@mned game station" just to shut me up haha. This video hits me hard. I forgot about this memory before listening to this again after so, so many years.

This was the game that ended Halo's dominance in terms of console online MP. When we played the open beta a few months before launch (only 3 maps: Vacant, Crash, and Overgrown), we knew this was going to decimate Halo 3 and it did. What a time to be on the scene. The mid-to-late 2000s were the golden age of gaming before all the publishers kept trying to nickel and dime everyone online with microtransactions.

During the peak era of Cyber Cafes (2004) we had insane runs in Joint Operations, Serious Sam, Call of Duty: United Offensive and America's Army. Then by the end of that era (2008) we had Call of Duty 4 and it was a blast from beginning to end. I have everlasting memories of this game, not only the matches in LAN but the single player campaign itself which felt more adult and serious than what was presented in COD2 two years prior. While those times will never come back, I still hold them close to the heart and despite the insane advance in videogame technology, from VR to photo realism, those games from the early 2000's will forever be burned into my memory. For the record I started gaming in mid 1991 thru an Atari 2600 when I was just 5 years old, then as a teenage I was right there at the 3D jump in the late 90's when 3D acceleration became a thing and games like Tomb Raider looked insane in the screen. Then what I described above happened, just when the advanced computerization took the world by storm and videogames, internet telecommunications and online video distributions became mainstream by late 2005 there was no way in which one could predict what would happen next. Hell I even uploaded my ever first gameplay to Google Video way back in early 2004 (me dying in Gun Metal), but suffice to say, it has been one hell of a ride this far. Now that I am reaching literally 32 years of gaming, things like this title screen for COD4 bring back enough memories to force stop me for a second and contemplate that long lost moment in time.
