@@KVQ0 Mujahideens are the first protectors of Afghanistan, Taliban/Al Qaida/ISIS/Islamic state/etc are branches from the Mujahideen. However the difference between the bunch is that Mujahideen made sure they don't get involved in any major Global problems as it had nothing to do with Afghanistan, however after the branches gotten much stronger, the Taliban took over as the Dominant force somewhere in the 90's as Al Qaida led by Osama bin Laden grew stronger. The connection between these factions is that they are all Muslims, they are all have guns. But alot if the Taliban are trying to be less violent than ISIS and Islamic State.

@@DemonicEmbrace People don't realize why Mullah Omar ordered their destruction, they are quick to demonize the Taliban as culturally insensitive fanatics. The Taliban originally were fierce defenders of the statues and had plans to preserve them when the war was over. What really ticked them off were the countless cultural preservation organizations coming into their land to refurbish the statues, spending millions in the process, in a frickin' war torn country where people are suffering. All that money could have been better spent in helping the people, but the West chose to focus on those irrelevant statues of the past. They blew them up to make sure the West only focuses on the people and the suffering and not irrelevant nonsense. I'm not saying I support them or this extreme decision, but it must be understood that they had a logical, though very emotional reason behind it and didn't destroy them for the sake of some cultural genocide or hatred of the past.
