Honestly, ever since they started using those pre-rendered cutscenes since Advanced Warfare they all felt just underwhelming, regardless if they look great texture wise. One minute long missions briefing were so MUCH more engaging, especially those from original Modern Warfare, World at War or Black Ops. Or mission variety. Golden Era CODs had perfect mix of spec ops missions with full out war ones. Now? Latter is completely gone, former barely present and instead we mostly have some 007/Bourne agent stuff. Characters wise true also, with all new or redone being mere shadows at best of what used to be. Frankly only interesting addition was that Latino woman from second MW2 but script screw her over anyway.

I really enjoyed the campaign, but I have two primary complaints: - Harrow was a weak antagonist, we had no emotional investment thus learning of her psychological trauma had far less impact than it should have. I think they should have dived deeper into Case's background. - The game leans too heavy into this A-Team/Avengers thing of this squad of characters doing wild shit. The game feels like its bigging up how badass these characters are rather than letting them be authentically badass. I REALLY miss how in the old CoDs you were partaking in missions as part of a large platoon or even a whole army (CoD 4, WaW). They could have incorporated proper Gulf War warfighting if they did this.

Well my main issue with Harrow being the villain of this story was that she never actually felt like the true final boss to close out the campaign. When it was first revealed that she was working alongside Pantheon, I was just patiently waiting for them to further explain her motives so we could uncover who the actual villain was. After learning more about her story, I'm still sitting there wondering who the main villain was because that backstory didn't convince me that she was evil in any shape or form. It just seemed like they were setting her up for a huge redemption arc and just said "nope." I'm literally halfway through the fight scene still wondering if she was the main antagonist and if I should even be trying to fight her 😂

As much as this campaign was fun, as for the story it was subpar, Never did I feel emotionally engaged. Did like the zombies levels for its gameplay but did not like it for the story. It just feels like a lot of context and storytelling wasnt explained. Nothing about case felt interesting. No mention of bell. An ending that felt okay, and the last 3 missions felt like an acid trip. All the dream and zombie missions felt more fantasy than realistic or stake filled. Still don’t like the heavy inclusion of zombies within the campaign. And it just felt weird going from stealth tactical mission to then zombies hordes a margwa boss and other bosses, to then robbing a casino, to then doing platforming on a floating platforms in the sky. Just doesnt seem very militaristic or realistic

In my opinion it breaks immersion and is not realistic to real life conflicts. Evil is the same as real life.

I get people love to whine about the new games, but this campaign was pretty good. The cash system and that progression was fun, the character interactions at the house were nice (especially Felix), and it mixed things up often. Not the best, sure, but I’d say it’s on par or better than the usual.

I love how the girl bosses at Activision give us our first female villain, but then completely wimp out and make it so we go in her head to find out that her evil caused by childhood trauma. This character was fucking boring in the first place and we had to spend the end of the game in her head. This ruined the game for me and I tell you it’s a terrible black ops game from a storytelling standpoint. This game should’ve been black ops, Cold War, part 2 and been about the end of the Cold War.
