What I enjoy about the alpha stage of a cod game is that no one is trying super hard, the best weapons haven’t been identified yet, everyone is on the same boat aside from being better at the new movement system.

I don’t think we knew how good we had it tbh. Go load up the og MW2: you will feel whiplash. There’s no Battle Pass bs, no nickel-and-dime MTX, no wacky character skins. Just soldiers who look like soldiers running around the maps. Here’s maybe the most impressive thing: the voice lines from that game are still used in meme culture to this day, that’s how you know it was an important game. “ENEMY AC-130 ABOVE” Just a really tight shooter.

i always take the training course whenever i take the chance because extra training before going against other players can be considered a pretty great benefit only if: 1. you have not been on FPS games for a long time (at minimum i feel like at least a year) 2. if this is your first time playing FPS games 3. or just giving yourself extra practice so for next time, you are ready!

Tbf we're looking at an early build that doesn't even have most of the content. The attachments don't show cons yet and some, you you can't even unlock because the guns haven't been added. The Squish character skin is holding an M60 that we can't even see elsewhere. Definitely hoping they can polish the issues out on the dev build by October as well.

Fuck this actually looks great. So many good ideas and improvements that are long overdue. The omni-movement is a stroke of genius that looks fun as hell to use, and enemies don't fall down in the same 5 animations when you kill them now I always thought shooting enemies, especially in campaign, felt like shooting through paper targets with canned death animations, save for the occasional goofy ragdoll from an explosion. This isn't that. The shooting and gunplay looks tight, weighty and dynamic, the guns actually sound like guns, and little features like an actual health bar appearing when you get hit just make sense. I really might buy a COD game on release for the first time since MW2019.

I've played the beta up to max level 20, and can easily confirm everything you said. For me personally, it has been a lot of fun as well as refreshing to see a properly developed cod game (considering they worked on it for four years). The maps are also great as well- you have plenty of alternate routes you can take to avoid snipers and do some serious damage with wide flanks, etc etc. Also the maps being original is another plus in my book, even though the beta only gives you access to a handful. We won't know how great all the maps are till launch, but all in all- it's a fun fps game that I'd highly recommend to you and others interested as well 👍
