This is still the only COD that has truly picture-in-picture 3D scopes. The newer COD form 2019 and onwards they feature some realistic scope effects like shadowing and scope parallax, but they aren't true PiP 3D scopes.

The FP6 had probably one of the best reload anims for its time. Most games are taking a shell offscreen and inserting whereas with the FP6 you could see every shell in the hand be inserted into the tube. Ghosts reloads have always felt unique compared to the rest of the CoD lineup.

I actually really liked this game! I had an absolute blast playing against bots with my friend, just repeatedly killing them seeing how long we survive. It has a special place in my heart. Also, wonderful work as always, you even got that one random reload animation in the finale of the campaign! That's super cool!

4:53 The LYNX tactical reload shows him removing a still loaded mag and loading I'm a new loaded mag. You can clear see the rounds being loaded in. However on the empty mag reload, he removes an empty mag, but still inserts another empty mag.

To this day I still don't understand all the hate this game got, it tried something new, had fun and engaging weapons, different and interesting map designs, a new co-op mode that both had a story AND a survival mode and although the ending of the campaign was kinda dumb, it was still a fun experience.

It's mostly because the campaign was bad, the MP maps were pretty bad and it felt like a worse MW, otherwise it did have cool gamemodes and that lovely Perk System.

Also because the kill-time for weapons was so damn fast (too fast), some of the kill streaks were shit, the squads feature was pretty much barebones and needed more to make it work as an AI based team v team lineup, and the bundles/camos had the controversy of the usual “Pay to Show Off” / “Win” routine.

the craziest thing i learned recently is that the Bulldog was a real shotgun that used ammunition stacked in order in the replacable barrel that would fire each individual powder load using electronic ignition. the craziest part is it's made by an aussie company called Bullet Storm that also made the 3GL that was in BF4 where you could load three grenades into a single breach loaded grenade launcher and fire them semi automatically reloading just by shoving them one by one into the breach

I've come to realize, after watching this, that MWII (2022) shares a lot of weapons with Ghosts, and I think that was on purpose considering that Ghost is the poster child for the game and CoD:Ghosts was InfinityWard's follow up game to the original Modern Warfare trilogy.

I’m still laughing at how the suppressor on the bulldog just gets chucked on the side after the mag is empty like dude “YOUR WASTING A GOOD SUPPRESSOR”

That Bulldog reload raises a lot of issues to me. For one, due to the way the reload works you'd have to have suppressor for each individual magazine. Which would be ridiculously expensive. Then it basically requires you to flag your own hand while loading. Which is sketchy as fuck.

Anyone curious as to why Ghosts wasn't and still isn't one of the more popular entries should watch Bricky explain it. Whilst he goes into more depth on the cons and acknowledges what was done well (e.g. perk system), it was a lot of different things coming together to make for poor timing that were mostly out of the devs control. Ghosts itself had issues aside from that, but it seems nostalgia and revisionism have started to take effect and now there's confusion on why it got criticism and claims surfacing that it is overhated. Maybe it was to some degree, but it definitely deserved a lot of the flak it did catch.

I played D1 and it was already the best game in the franchise, in my opinion. It's just that people have different tastes and they evolve over time. I've always found my fellow COD players to have crappy taste. The point is : If you like BO2-like games it's difficult to like Ghosts, but if you think BO2 is a mess (like me), Ghosts will be your savior haha
