True. The devs are not at fault. They are only doing what they are assigned. Orders come from higher management and CEO. They mostly have their financial targets to hit. Also games like COD are extremely expensive to keep running; servers alone are $100-300k per server, another $50-200k per month to run especially because Activision owns demonware (server company COD is ran on) so tac on employees and electricity also not to mention all the devs, QA and outsourced workers payroll, food, advertising, collabs with companies for bundles etc.. also you DON'T HAVE TO BUY THE BUNDLES. stop acting like that is a reason to hate on a game. Now streamers cry because most casuals have left so cronus streamers dont have enough casuals to play agaisnt and have to play against other cheaters so its not fun for them. My crew left the second CoD Cold War got integrated years ago. OG CoD Warzone with ONLY the MW19 integration was the goat of Warzone and the second they brought in other integrations it killed the game. Absolutely devastating as that original MW19 version was the most my crew has ever played any game together

The creators we dislike are the ones that push trough their videos for the companies to make changes that make the game better for creators and not for average players. The biggest issue with Warzone is that casuals have left the game. The developers have nerfed many tools casual players relied on-vehicles, helicopters, RPGs, shotguns, and melee attacks-making it harder for less experienced players to compete. CW was going to be my last CoD but the nostalgia got me to buy the game with the worst movement in a decade, worst spawns, worst balance, and worst immersion. I don't think I enjoyed a single bit of the game. Fastest CoD uninstall of my life and I haven't been back since. Not even with BO6 on gamepass. I’ve had enough of this game this morning. So many problems. 1. Pulled out my heartbeat for the first time in the first circle, some how the battery was dead and couldn’t use it, didn’t believe it so checked again and got killed checking. 2. A downed player shouldn’t be able to self faster than a thermal grenade actually detonating. 3 . Can’t land and regain on area 99 without another player being within 20ft . Don’t even have enough time to get a gun, load it and put armor on. 4. Where is the footstep audio 5. Finding a smg floor lot is like finding a specialist. You’ll find 20 snipers,legs, shotguns and pistols before a sniff of a smg. Way more but sheesh

I havent really played since the great sniper nerf a couple of years ago. They basically elimated an entire play style due to creators complaining. I put in 100's, 1000's of hours running around with a kar98. Overnight, it became unplayable. I played alittle bit when they brought it back. But they quickly nerfed it into the ground. The problem is Warzone is not its own game and their anti-cheat is worthless. If Warzone was it's own game, it could be the top tier BR. With their integrations, they completely break the game and it takes 6-9 months to fix it. Then 3 months later, they break it again with a new integration when the game finally gets to a good spot. Next, they remove content during their integrations and then slowly give it back to the players throughout the year claiming its new content. The solution is simple to make this game great, but they choose not to do it and no one knows why. 1. Kernel Level Anti-Cheat that actually works. 2. Server Improvements 3. Warzone as an independent game. 4. Keep content and quality of life changes in the game. Stop removing playlists and content and slow dripping it back to the players under the guise that its new content.

At it's core, the game is just not enjoyable. Maps with no character is at the top and movement that has gotten way too fast from where it started makes it less appealing to casual gamers. If you don't have the casual game base, the game will never reach the heights it was at previously. We don't need 50 SMGs with 100+ optics, 85 barrels, etc.....simplify the game to make it more approachable.

I don't think the movement is *that* much of an issue. Sure, it makes it more of a learning curve, but it's not even the most advanced movement COD we've had. Advanced Warfare, BO3 and especially Infinite Warfare were more advanced because of jetpacks/boosters and wall running. This is still boots on the ground. Although Omni movement does hinder m&k players and magnifies the horrible servers and hit detection

@@toxicgracie3772 Omnimovement is terrible because their engine and netcode was not made for it at all. The animations and hitbox desync are insanely bad. Not to mention the peeker's advantage is ridiculous with such movement speed. You can be dead before you can even react when someone slides around a corner at full speed. It could be good if it wasn't some gimmick just slapped into the game without proper development time. The advanced movement games were slower even. I don't know why they overcompensated so hard anyway. All people wanted was fast ADS and sprint to fire speeds, and being able to jump without it taking 5 years to ADS.

We have the same story. We hadn't gamed together since Battlefield 4. DMZ brought us back together during Covid, and we got into Warzone shortly after. But I haven't played since The Boys superhero characters integration in WZ2. I know COD hasn't been "realistic" for a long time, but players literally flying around the map shooting lasers out of their eyes was the last straw for me.

As a casual call of duty player I just get destroyed in every game mode. I stopped playing during black ops 2 just because life got busy. I started again during a free weekend during season 2 mw3 because of zombies. Now that I’ve beaten everything in mwz I just recently started playing dmz but I keep getting destroyed by level 1250 players when I’m only a level 45. A buddy of mine keeps wanting to play dmz now but I keep making excuses to why I’m not getting on because it’s not fun when I get destroyed in the first two minutes every game while I’m trying to do missions, one of my first games I was doing a mission and got hunt squad on me and got killed by two guys using one shot shotguns. Afterwards for no reason (I didn’t say anything) they told me I was a piece of shit and no one is doing missions in their lobbies. They continued to call me every name in the book. Not going to lie, afterwards I shut it off for a few days. Just my 2 cents.

The other day i was playing with some friends. There were 8 of us so we split in 2 groups and we queued together. Our team was more casual and we had around 2-3 kda ratio. The other team had around 4+ kda one of them is 5+ .They drop 20 kills for fun almost every game. So we queued at the same time and guess what? We got in the same lobby 3 times in a row. I've always appreciated your honesty and humbleness Stone. You're really a down-to-earth and transparent content creator and I now remember why you left me such a positive impression when I met you at the reveal of Battlefield 1 in London back in 2016. I remember you were actually surprised I recognised you lol. The lack of good FPS and Battlefield games really left a gaping hole for sure, the thing I hate about COD content creators is the constant grifting, meta bait, whining and bad influences over the years. As you mentioned it, it's a business... you guys are making money over successful contents however there's so much hypocrisy from most of the CC you mentioned. I remember the same talks back in 2022 with how terrible Caldera was. Then we had what I found to be an absolute breath of fresh air and grounded experience with MW2/WZ2 but the usual COD community trashed it beyond ridicule and now BO6 and WZ have worse players count than WZ2 ever had at its lowest. In some way I do think the saturation of social media and rise of streamers/CC ruined the organic experience in online games. I hope the upcoming Battlefield is a true return to form but I'm also aware it'll never exactly be like what we used to have with BF3/4 cause the gaming scene has changed so much with new generation of gamers and expectations. However I hope you remain as transparent, honest and fun as you've always been!

I have played Warzone since July 2020 (so basically since the start - the first few months). I have never UNtouched the game "Warzone" longer than 2 weeks. And those 2 weeks were usually because I couldn't play, due to work, holidays or whatever reason. This is the first time I have only played 3-6 matches in total. And I don't even know why. The game is not working (I play on PS5). A list of things that bugged for me: - I change operator, it doesn't do shit, I'm still standard mil-sim operator in the next game. - I change the operator again, it changes to the operator this time, but the next game I'm back being the standard Mil-sim operator. Like what? - I built a fully stacked loadout, I go into the game, grab my loadout, and I don't have the guns in my hand that I have built it with - When I am in loadout, and I try to adjust a guns gunsmith, I get kicked out of the loadout screen. - Same goes with changing perks, i put on my perks, tacticals, grenades etc, then in game I don't have the tacts, perks etc that i chose. - A lot of creators explain the game feels "Wonky" or "Clunky". I don't know how to name it, but it doesn't feel like Multiplayer. - This is the first time since WZ1 that I actually enjoy Multiplayer more than Warzone, and that coming from a dedicated Warzone player like me, is weird. I used to only play multiplayer with friends for fun, OR to level guns/camo grind. - The game is too far off what Warzone used to be

I am a OOOG Call of Duty soldier since 2007 when the original modern warfare dropped. I've lost actual friends in this war. I've spent hours on a bus with zombies chasing me, days is a theater with a chasing a gun box around.. my latest tour of duty was in the DMZ space.. i want to still love Call of Duty, but I don't want to ever be considered a sweat in the name of trying to keep is some rank bracket. I got an idea. If battlefield will really pursuit battleroyale. They need to NOT include any sweaty movements. Just plain running and walking. No dive, jump shots, quick prone, wall run. Nada. Any movement that apex and cod have DO NOT INCLUDE IT. Have a battleroyale but make it tactical and strategic. Hell, have a role in it i dont know. Not just braindead brainrot shoot kill. Not to mention a fair kill time and not unreactable. Also, remove unlimited parachutes. Make parachutes a loot and make it 2 max. Make players experience consequences by getting to higher places. Warzone heavily relies on that. Make ziplines and chutes a loot. Make anything limited. Guns. Dont dump a 500 diff types of guns and just stick to a rotation. Remove gunsmith. Not entirely but just keep the scopes and. Having gunsmith is terrible for casual players. If you cant upgrade your gun in cod youre cooked. Youre behind. Remove the upgrade system. We dont need to grind for attachments. Make it accessible for everyone. Not everyone can or want to buy the base game for you to upgrade faster in multiplayer. Battlepasses. Make it less grindy and just let people finish it quickly. These are just examples that I think can help the game. Just look at marvel rivals. They did everything that ow cant or wont do.

The problem with this game is its too much grindy and sweaty. Everything you do felt like a chore. So when you loose it feels horrible. Queue for 3 mins and die the second you land. Make everyone in the same pace in terms of movement, guns and loot. I cant stressed enought the gunsmith in warzone. For example my lvl 1 ar vs my enemies lvl 50 gun with the meta attachments that can melt me in 0.5 seconds. If they want to keep the gunsmith and gun levels keep it in multiplayer. No ones going to have problems wether you have a lvl 1 or a max lvl gun in multiplayer because kill time is almost the same and you respawn. In warzone, it must be a completely different experience. Again i cant stress this enough. MAKE EVERYONE ON THE SAME PACE.

My mp5 in cold war is now meta vs my mp5 in modern warfare. That makes no fcking sense. Why slap another 100 guns but make it just older version of the current ones. It makes no fckin sense and it just bloats the game and literally my storage. If they want to keep up the base game for the warzone mode just replace the old one with the new and not mix it. Completely leave behind the old base game and just leave it for multiplayer.

I would say the more technical this game as well as others have gotten the more you see a dip in casual players nightly, weekly, or even monthly. My group used to consist of at least six of us who would play regularly during the week. Casual players are getting spawned and killed or dropping in warzone or resurgence and getting absolutely crushed before the end of the first circle. Even off the drop as we all know is happening in Area 99, players are getting fed up quitting never to return for months or ever.

The only reason why I hear most of people are quitting gaming are; - Lack of creativeness (gameplay and storymode) - Lack of content, be honest, I dont bother much about skins, especially when I need to buy an ingame battlepass, after buying the game. I want full support for the coming next 4 years. - Cheating, which came when introducing crossplay. Biggest reason for me why I am considering buying a PS5 atm, cause we at the xbox can’t turn it off because of MS. Biggest example for the points above are BF3, 4 and battlefield 1; No battlepass, but multiple maps you could buy including new weapons. Don’t forget the premium passes where you got all the new maps.

Been playing Warzone from the beginning after nearly a 1000 hours of PUBG. I’m very much an ok causal gamer. Was playing 3 sometimes 4 times a week with 2 friends since the start. Never liked the level grind for weapons but with shipment you could do it quick enough but still a pain. The the last few months before BO6 It started getting really frustrating. Literally 2 maybe 3 guns you had to use and everyone seemed to be mega sweaty. Maybe I was just getting worse not better. Then BO6. Why bother. I’ve now played 12 hours, mainly zombies. Have only fully levelled 2 guns. WTF is this. I want to play the game and have fun. Not grind out fun levels so that I can then have fun. I’m not even level 50 yet. In zombies I have 1 special thingy maxed out and there are 6. How many hours do I need to play the game with one arm behind my back before I can play it with all the tools. Have tried the new Warzone but not having any good guns levelled makes it pointless before the bugs. Multiplayer is zero fun to play for me. I really love the BR genre. Everyone starting each game the same. Brilliant idea. Make the skill in being good not in who has ground out gun levels. I actually don’t know what games to play now. I want to play games that don’t need levelling before you can actually play and I don’t like round based TDM stuff as there is no real punishment for death and so no satisfaction for winning. Win a round of multiplayer on COD, who cares. Not hard. I know the bugs are annoying but I really the grind is what is putting off the casual players. Who wants to grind out 30+ guns to max level again just in order to play. Who wants to min max leveling power ups before you can complete a zombies map like you see people do on you tube. I done with it.

Having to level up guns in order to use in wz or buy p2w bundles that has a new gun with certain attachments that would require hours of grinding in or out wz is what makes wz a fake br. Wz was only fun the first couple of months playing with friends who are casuals. I'm a day 1 Apex player and still continue to play. The core gameplay of Apex smokes cod out of existence and actually requires skills. Give Apex a try if you want a good challenge.

Maybe its a good mechanic for multiplayer as a reason to keep playing but for Warzone and maybe Zombies I think the weapons should just be maxed and let you build them how you want. That at least sticks with my understanding of a BR. Have everyone start the match the same with only their knowelge and skill being the difference between them.

I'm surprised that we have people playing with calculators to ensure they are getting the right amount of XP, keeping spreadsheets to track all this data, counting fingers on characters/posters. I remember when we use to play games just for fun. I'm on PC this time around, I don't play Warzone. I must be lucky because I can't say I recall encountering hackers in the normal Multiplayer. I don't think most people know how to identify if someone is hacking the game. You'd just normally think the other person is better than you.

Been an OG since cod4. I deleted it when the first go at anti cheat failed. I’m no pro by any stretch. Anyone over a 2KD seen hackers on a regular basis. I had over a 2 KD playing only in prime time. (5pm-9pm CST.) That never stopped. As a streamer playing during the day you have an advantage IMO because hackers gotta work to pay for them hacks. lol when people are openly streaming themselves hacking, it’s a problem lol. I actually really enjoyed camo grinding and leveling guns etc and i liked the whacky operator bundles and stuff but in the last two months ever since the Squid Game update I cannot get more than 20 to 30 minutes into a session without crashing to desktop. My 3 friends and I played verdansk EVERY chance we got, quit for 5 months during caldera (the glitches, the cheating pushed us off). We started playing again with al mazra and played all the time. But the cheating has gotten so bad and the grind of the meta of the week pushed us casual guys off. We just want to play with the guns that we want to play with. The sniping was the absolute best in verdansk. They need to have an anti cheat that runs in the background of your system and watches everything that is going on outside of the game. Until then we’re out. There’s still an insane itch for us that we haven’t found a cure for but it’s not going to a bad enough itch for us to download the massive file that is COD.

Sometimes, I play 2 games of resurgence and quit. My biggest gripe is the lag and the pay to win weapons. Activision needs leaders who are actually passionate about video games.

The only PvP FPS games that I genuinely love are Rainbow Six Siege and Splitgate. Siege did crossplay right, you have the option to play just Xbox/Playstation Crossplay, Xbox/Playstation/PC Crossplay, or just no Crossplay at all, and I'm able to consistantly find games without PC crossplay turned on so I'm happy with that. Also, Splitgate 2 recently got announced and I'm super excited for it as well.

Let's be honest, though: I always felt the competitive bar for COD WZ got so high, so many players got so good at the game that new players got tired trying to get good and stopped playing the game. Then, it gave rise to hackers who needed to cheat to get wins. Then game developers tried so many things to keep it competitive, but I think it got out of control. And now, the game is soured out. Yet it was a good run, but I think it needs to die.

Sincerely if Battlefield really capitalizes on the new iteration of a Battle Royale I would be absolutely hooked just simply take what worked from BF4 plus MW19 sprinkle in a little bit of modern graphic epicness with a dash of actual destruction, and solid physics engine We'd be in for some really really epic times boys!

I have a group of 6 freinds. I was the first to stop playing back in Mw3. I told them why but they were still addicted and brainwashed so I just sat in the discord playing my own thing. Slowly but surely my complaints started to ring true with them and now none of us play it. We all play fortnite and other games, and for the past few months, there has been a better atmosphere, and we genuinely seem happier. We played it for so long in the past that we kept playing it because it was a habit/lifestyle, once we realised there was no enjoyment anymore were able to break free from it.

There should be a lock on updates from December to February. The final update for the year should be solely focused on improvements and optimizations. This would ensure the game runs well over the holiday period.

I’m exactly like you stone - with my free time I like to play video games, not movies or shows. But I’m in my 30s now with a kid and wife and a job. So I don’t have time to get good at Warzone like I did when Verdansk was out. The competition is just too high and I feel disadvantaged against PC players (assuming it’s easier to play on pc). COD does offer something nice in that I can just turn it on whenever I get free time and play a few games but again the movement dynamics are SWEATY. Look at the gameplay from older cods and you will see that the movement was simpler and allowed for a more even playing field. I’m saying all of this to say that online gaming is too tough and I’m a lifetime gamer. This is why Fortnite is killing it especially with the no build mode. Those lobbies offer a good time with decent competition but not too much.

I recently got into Off the grid, and it’s a great refreshing take on extraction/BR. The crypto stuff is another topic but gameplay at hand is very refreshing. 2024 had great new releases that weren’t BR. BR isn’t dead, but BR hasn’t really don’t much to differentiate each other enough. Plus the hacking stuff.

To answer your question: 3/4 of the players on my friends list haven’t made it past level 5 and I stopped playing one week after the integration. For me it wasn’t even the cheaters but the poor performance with massive FPS drops and stutter. I am playing Delta Force for now.

COD is basically the only multiplayer game I've played since 2019 (first on Xbox, then switched to PC) My friends and I have played almost every day since beginning of Modern Warfare/Warzone. But we haven't touched the game in over a month. It's gotten terrible with bugs and cheats, and the AI voice chat/hacking bans. I'll maybe try again once the update/Verdansk is back, but until then, it could vanish and I wouldn't be sad.

I am a casual. To be honest Stone, I stopped played a few weeks ago. Terrible servers, terrible hit reg, bugs, and cheaters. Also the sweats make it unplayable for someone like me that comes home from work and once I put the kids to bed try to hop on and it's just not fun with all that stuff. It's just a fun casual experience anymore.

As a pc player who’s always been a pc gamer, cross play should only be between consoles. I personally consider cod’s aim assist cheating. The fact that my friends play on controller on pc is enough for me. It’s way too strong and the only mode I can play competitively is hardcore since my competition literally have magnetic bullets. I understand why aim assist is needed as a quality of life with the lack of input precision, but keep the sticks with sticks and let the pc players sweat it out together. I don’t mind waiting longer to find matches

BR games dying is the best news I've heard for FPS in ages. I hate BR games so much but every company just want to make BR games.
