Trying to parse Zer0's origin is to miss the entire point of the character. Theres a reason the robot eye is "Not Can0n" because his origin is not MEANT to be comprehendible. Zer0 is meant to be like his name sake, "nothing" "Null" , whatever you THINK he is, whatever you WANT him to be, he is thematically and canonically *_Not._* He is the living embodiment of a mystery. In a sense hes alot like a Lovecraftian cosmic horror, something you can't and are not supposed to make sense of. He defies understanding. Giving him a concrete backstory would be the WORST possible disservice you could possibly do to the character. (Which given Borderlands 3's track record of insulting character disservice would not surprise me if they actually tried to do just that)

I mean, we have been watching lillith train her powers through the games, maya had training but it was limited and she didnt have a whole lot of real world experience to start her vault hunting career with. Amara is a vigilante celebrity before the game starts, shes had her powers and been actively using them for an undetermined amount of time before the game starts. I love when they kill off loved characters in good ways THAT MAKE SENSE. Bl3 did not do that. The only time bl2 killed off a character in a bad way was when we killed wilhelm. But to be fair he wasnt AS big of a character until now. He still was jacks strongest enforcer and he even wiped out new haven. The only way it makes sense for jack to poison him is punishment for failing to kill lillith.

Makes sense that Jack wouldn't make it entirely impossible for the VHs to get the "shield generator", considering he's still needs them in order to attack Sanctuary. But the issue with that is, why was Wilhelm on that train to begin with? He would've been better off at the Bunker protecting Angel and the Vault Key. Why was he on a train protecting a generator that Jack WANTED the VHs to take? Maybe the writers kinda forget to physically include him into the story and decided to give us a quick boss fight with him? Because, he doesn't even get an intro scene. Then again, maybe Jack wanted to make it LOOK like he was really trying to kill you up until that point. Personally, I've always theorised that Angel was secretly using Phaseshift during that boss fight to weaken Wilhelm's cybernetics and weapon systems. Or that the BL2 VHs are just that badass.

Jack sent him to be killed as part of the plot, knowing that the heroes would take the bait, thinking the thing Wilhelm was "protecting" was something useful. Jack doesn't care about anyone but himself. All other beings are tools to him.

If it had no guards, or even light protection, then the Crimson Raiders would be suspicious of Handsome Jack transporting a hyperion power core unguarded, knowing that Sanctuary used these power cores to protect itself from moonshot barrages. So, you poison wilhelm, install some malware into his cybernetics to weaken him, then have him guard the trapped power core so that the Crimson Raiders think they're striking gold, especially after the Vault Key isn't on the train they'd view a fully charged hyperion power core as something worth taking

as a dedicated Wilhelm main I've always found Wilhelm very goofy, since at launch he was actually the game's dedicated support, as fully speccing into his red tree enables him to heal and massively buff all allies around him while also granting periodic shield restore pulses to his allies SupportHelm isn't the best, especially for a first playthrough, but he is wonderfully silly

I pretty sure this mission is when you find the new mouthpiece 4. Self explanatory it's the final boss 5. Finish all of claptraps mission and you unlock one where he pretty much dances with a girl in a wheelchair. Which is "dance baby dance"

Kinda late but I just stumbled upon your video, I would like to add something interesting about zero. Remember Battleborn? So, gearbox added several easter eggs about Borderlands in that game, it just happens nobody played lol. One of the factions in that game was called Jennerit, they are VERY reminiscent of Zero's demeanor, appearance, color schemes and the list goes on, oh and all of them have 4 fingers aaand they are somehow immortal. One of the charactes named Rath reminds me of Zero, he even uses a similar katana but he does have a human face. So yeah, they probably were planning on expanding this part of the lore but oh well, never happened

I think the reason amaras abilities seem way more advanced is because developers gave more gameplay choice/freedom in how to apply her abilities in battle. Maya realistically would have the most diverse battle tactics because her ability is basically telekinesis, there would be nothing stopping her from levitating around in a phase lock or even dragging the weapons from enemy hands.

Ever think about how little sense the B-Team has in context? At the end of Borderlands 2 Brick and Mordecai decide to help hunting down vaults. At the end of Pre Sequel the Watcher tells them to start recruiting more vault hunters. THEN IN BORDERLANDS 3 Brick and Mordecai just kinda don't do any of it and decide to team up with Tina and become some qeird mercenary team who doesn't give half a fuck about the Vault or the supposed big event.

From game one to three I’ve always gravitated towards playing the sirens first. Here’s my guess as to why Amara can do so much more than any other siren we’ve playedEach playable siren character has represented a story of growth. First we play Lilith a woman who’s spent probably most of her life alone. She’s had the least siren focused education of any other and probably didn’t start evolving her powers until the events of bl1. Next is Maya, grew up in a environment where she was trained and educated on sirens and their powers. Although this was all tainted by the monk’s agenda. Finally we have Amara a life long fighter. While her siren education is questionable she most likely has more practical experience with her powers than the first two combined.

Krieg to me is genuinely poetry in gameplay. Throughout the series, psychos are seen as these insane, yet simple weirdos who just set themselves on fire and throw buzz axes. But then you see krieg's skill trees and find he is the most complicated character to build in borderlands 2, so much that you can actually build him wrong. But if you know what you're doing he's basically an unkillable powerhouse.

I always thought that Maya was the leader of the Borderlands 2 group. Gaige is barely out of her teens (and has a god complex), Zer0 is a mysterious assissin looking for his next big challenge, Axton is too much of a gloryhound that he'll disregard orders if he thinks something will be epic, Krieg is a literal Psycho, and Salvador is... Salvador. Not to say that Maya isn't dealing with her own shit, just that she seems the most mature out of the whole group.

I feel like when designing Moze, Gearbox took what's best from Salvador and Axton, put it into blender and served us literally the best and the most dopamine inducing cocktail ever to exist. This character is so fun to play that I've literally NOT EVEN ONCE beaten BL3 with any other characters and i've played through this game 5 different times + 2 times on TVHM That's right... SEVEN times i've played through the campaing and every single time I picked her.

I don't even want to see Borderlands 4 with how they screwed over or just forgot the characters from previous games in Borderlands 3. Like Borderlands 2 paid a good amount of respect to the characters from the first game and those who were killed died a fairly meaningful deaths. Borderlands 3 writers have found out they have no skills for writing something too complex and decided to kill off anything they don't know what to do with.

I wouldn't say Wilhelm is evil, it's just he's not good, he likes killing and wanted to be a robot. so given that he's that type of character he doesn't really care about what's right or wrong, he just wants to kill and be a robot. Doesn't matter what side he's on he just wants those things, if the crimson raiders had found him first and been like hey we can do that for you he probably would have stayed with them. Point is I don't think he's technically evil. BTW nice video

Amara actually only has one siren ability, that being her astral projection. She can just control what parts of her body and how many are projected, so shes just using her powers better than the other sirens lol.

Lilith is basically the protagonist of the entire series. There's currently only one Borderlands game where she doesn't play a pivotal role in the story, and it's the one taking place after her "death", Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, the "One" thing is actually revealed to be Zane, based on the fact he has a skin called "Assasin One" which resembles Zer0 and based on the fact they went to the same bars and were potentially friends. They also have similar technology except for Zane focusing more on the clone instead of hiding or anything.

Amazing game series. Roland was my first character when bl1 first released so seeing his development really felt almost personal to me and his death was tragic and sad. Needless to say when bl2 came out i almost felt like i had a duty of sorts to play as axton.

FL4K is actually cannonically nonbinary, with a little pin with 01 crossed out on it, with the nonbinary flag behind it (get it? non-binary? robot? no?) also describing themselves as "not man nor woman" in game, and they/them pronouns only used for them :] making a robot nonbinary is not only classic but always so funny 2 me xd

My first character in any borderlands game is a siren (Aurelia in TPS). I like magic stuff. In DnD i'm a sorcerer or necromancer, a psyker in 40k darktide and so on. I like how magic makes a mundane situation extraordinary.
