I just bought the disc with the intention of playing campaign, only to find out that its locked. Luckily I bought used, but seriously a $60 game disc with about 60GB install and I can't even play the campaign without downloading this 75GB update??? Honestly I think this deserves an outrage. The game disc should include all things that aren't online based. If I want online, then I'll download what's required for online. But if buy a freaking full priced game, then I should be able to play the f****n game. The bottom of the case does, in fact, state "internet required" in small letters but I missed it. I just hope this doesn't become a trend for single player games

@@churichurinfunflais5269 It makes you download a big ass update. Once that's finished, you have to go in and download all the packs that mention "campaign mode". I did all that and was finally able to play campaign, but the file on the ps4 was about 120gb. I figured I might as well download the rest of the MP stuff, bringing the file to a whopping 160gb. I got about 2 days of online play before the next warzone update, which was another 30gb (locking me out of online play). I decided to cut my losses and relieve my ps4 from that massive file. I popped in BF1 and was almost amazed to be in the campaign without needing to download anything. The offline content was on the disk... Huh, weird concept. I will not be buying anything from Infinity Ward until I know for sure they're done with their bs

Miss those days of nes, snes, sega master, sega genesis, ps1 and ps2. You just put the game and play. And to play the DLC, you just had to beat the game in hard.

For disc owners you need to launch the PS4 online 1st before switching to offline mode or the game locks and is unplayable. I installed the game while being online then turned internet off and was able to play campaign mode. Once i turned off the PS4 and turned it back on i was still offline and now i cannot play the campaign mode as it states im missing a dlc pack. If you check the game downloads they are all locked at this point. If you switch to online briefly and then go offline you will be able to play the campaign as the game is no longer locked. So you do indeed need to be online initially at startup of the console no matter what to be able to play the campaign offline. I spent alot of time reading threads, watching videos and uninstalling and reinstalling before figuring this out. Very frustrated and dissapointed.

Hi buddy , im a old buck player here and just received my copy of PS4 modern Warfare (2019) today Christmas 2020. I dont understand...I first put the disc in my PS4 PRO and it automatically started the installation around 45gig if i remember well. once completed , i started the game and it told me that i didnt have the update 1 pack installed. Im not familliar with thing like that so i thought that i needed to update the game itself and it told me that update 1.30 was found and started downloading it (+70go !! damn it...) and once completed i started the game and once again was told that update pack 1 was not installed. I have no psn account created , so i made one and FINALLY found the update pack 1&2 , HD resolution pack 1&2 that i installed too. my question is : did i downloaded 70go of game update for nothing if i dont want to play online ?! I ONLY need/want to play the solo campaign. did you know if i should have been able to unlock it with simply the disc content installed & update pack 1 & 2 ? also , did the HD resolution pack 1&2 serve me in the solo campaign OFFLINE or its mainly for ONLINE multiplayers use ?!

My biggest concern about MWII 2022 is that the campaign will not be aviable offline. What are our guarentees that it won’t lock, a month or two after we buy it? How do we that Activision won’t screw around? They must release the campaign and multiplayer on their respective disc and keep them separated. I’ve installed all content and I’ve tried every tip from KZbin but the campaign in MW 2019 is still locked. It requires me to be online in order to play it. Is this the future of video gaming? It's because some COD main menu allow you to launch some other COD games. Their games are so messed up, you usually have to redownload DLC packs, and be connected to the internet first time.

Chris Livingston game is messed up, and lots people including myself have issues that only Activision can fix. Though I have no issues with campaign, it just works.

Brandon I figured it out. Activision makes you have to register and create an online profile before unlocking campaign mode.
