Here is how to restore licenses. In order to restore licenses on PS5, you need to hit X on the settings icon at the top of the UI. From there, go to the 'Users And Accounts' setting and hit X again. Scroll down to 'Other' and 'Restore Licenses' and hit X for the third time.

I have tried your two methods with my ps5 but when a new mini update went on modern warfare the problem came again. So it's not working for me even having tried to delete it (the saved files too), rebuild database and download it again with all packs like you said, 3 times and this shit still happens !! Even with restauring licences before/after the database rebuilt, without auto update like i read on Reddit.. I think the problem still occures as soon as a new modern warfare or warzone update come. Don't know how to resolve it. Is anyone still has this problem after try all these steps ??

What do you mean by when the ps5 reboots I held the button to turn it off for 5-8 seconds heard the second beep and waited 5 mins for it to turn back on but it never did so I turned it back on and it didn’t say anything it acted as if nothing happened and I didn’t fully turn it off 0:45 I belive is where you say it

Once the console is off, press and hold the power button again. Release it after you hear the second beep - one beep will sound when you first press, and another seven seconds later.

Yes true, feels like ages ago that those simple cassettes were used. We had just as much fun as we have today. However, the solution for me was after the 27 gig update, go into campaign and install the campaign data pack 1 and 2. Now it's showing wait for a second and after that message it shows installation succesful. The game works fine afterwards. PS5 has a lot of bugs tho...

this issue has been driving me nuts for ages... i never thought that shutting down the ps5 while the game is open would cause an issue, so im gonna try closing the game each time now and see if it makes a difference. i feel this issue is so intermittent that its impossible to find the exact trigger for the constant reinstalls. it has crossed my mind that any updates they release will trigger this... since season 2 reloaded updates came down ive had to reinstall the warzone addons a few times now.

i just turned my ps5 on and launched warzone.... its reinstalling the game content once again. last night when i finished playing i closed the game via the game menu and then shutdown my ps5 i am still to try the other things you mentioned but was curious to see if this would work. how is activision not aware of this issue? surely they know this is happening to so many gamers?

​@@savedbygamer9293 hey mate.. so your 1st point is pretty much in line with what i thought and discovered. I thought that the PS4 version of MW is causing this issue. Maybe the PS4 disc or the campaign or something like that. So as a test i uninstalled everything (MW, Warzone and Cold War) and deleted the saved game data (in line with what you said in the video) i refreshed my licensing once that was done. i disconnected my external HDD (used for ps4 games only) i then proceeded to reinstall Cold War (PS5 version) this obviously downloaded all the updates as well. once that was done i started installing warzone... from the list of available downloads i only selected the compatibility packs and the high texture resolution packs. i made sure that no campaign, zombies, special ops etc were selected. this obviously trigger about 6 updates. this whole process took close to 2 hours. once finished i started the game... loaded perfectly fine. **note that my warzone is installed on the internal SSD drive (for faster loading) I closed the game via the game switcher option (as you suggested in the video) shut down PS5 started PS5 and then launched warzone... no reinstalling! game started instantly closed game restarted PS5 and then launched game... no reinstalling again... perfect. shut down PS5 once again, launched game... no reinstalling... spot on. i have now shut down and started the game about 6 times and have not had to reinstall the 16GB and 11GB files. i cant exactly say what the root cause is but it does seem like theres something funky going on with the MW install. maybe removing the campaign is the solution? we shall see how long this lasts before a reinstall is triggered... then ill be back to square one. maybe others can try my fix to see if it works for them?

just want to update that since i reinstalled cold war and WZ and only installed the addons that were needed i havent had any issues ive started the game well over 10 times now and not once has it triggered a reinstall. i suspect that the issue is related to the MW campaign... especially the disc version.

I don't think this method works anymore dude. Well, since the new update anyway. I've tried your method 3 times now since the new update, still having issues. I did exactly like you said as well; deleted Modern Warfare and its Save Data, rebuilt database, installed the base data of Modern Warfare (bought game digitally), selected and installed ALL of the Modern Warfare packs while in game (did this overnight), let everything install, transferred Modern Warfare to a SSD. re-started the game and it's say everything is installed, shut the game down (I closed the game, not straight shut down PS5 while MW was open), re-opened the game and surprise, surprise most of packs were missing again.

Yes, this is a new bug associated with the latest update, it appears to have uninstalled packs and updated or modified existing installs to where you need to install the NEW files. I think this has to do with the attempts to compress file sizes due to pressure from the community to limit the size of MW. DISC ONLY issue: There is another theory that the problem is stemming from the PS4 auto installing the campaign when you pop your disc in. When the game was first released the campaign was mandatory, so you have the ps4 copying the campaign from the disc as originally designed. Here is what I have found, two different issues and resolutions. 1- PS4/5 keeps copying from the disc every time you restart.This appears to be the fastest and easiest fix at the moment, by simply downloading Campaign 1 and 2 (1-2mb) AND the spec ops pack(1mb) from within the COD settings will resolve the copying data issue. Some people are NOT downloading/installing campaign because they don't play it( like me but i have it downloaded and installed).This fix works and the only drawback is that you may have to do it each time but these files are small, about 3 MB total for all of them- so you are going to spend maybe a couple of minutes max downloading and installing. I have seen that putting your ps in sleep mode also causes the issue more frequently- so if you can close game and shut down that may resolve the recurring need to do the steps above. 2- This is the more common issue I'm seeing. At the title screen, if you see "install suspended" press x to see the list of installs. You need to uninstall any files that are "installed" then re-install ALL of them from THAT screen ( don't do this from the PS store add ons). Hope this helps you guys, I know its a major pain in the ass and the last thing we want to do is be scouring the internet reading and watching fixes for a problem you didn't cause. They just released this update and I am sure they are aware of the problem- hopefully they send us a little care package with a fix in it.

Hey Mio, What message are you getting? Without hearing back from you here are some things to check. First check how much room you have available on your PS hard drive Next If you are unsure if the additional content has been correctly installed, from the PS4 home screen, highlight modern warfare and then press down on the controller. This will bring you to the game page. On the left, select Playstation Store. The window on the right will show you your add-ons. Select Your Add-Ons and press X to see a complete list. That will bring up another window to check if the content you are looking for appears here and is marked as installed.

Eject your MW disc, uninstall Modern Warfare from your Console, delete your save files. I noticed that the MW icon was still on my system after deleting it but it had a generic thumbnail. To get rid of this I did a Database Rebuild. Boot into PS5 safe mode. (power off the ps5, press and hold the power button until you here a second beep) Select option 5 Rebuild Database The system will reboot once it is complete. Insert the game disc. Allow it to fully copy to the PS5. This will also trigger an update pack. Allow both of these to install and download. Launch the Game Perform the ingame update Launch Multiplayer The game will want you to install the extra Data Packs. Choose all of them except the black ops ones. Do not exit MW, do not launch another game. Allow all the downloads to complete and install with-in MW. Once all packs are installed you are done.

Hey bro, I feel your frustration. I just play Warzone now- I have CE and MW but I got tired of all the workarounds etc. No! The external is not a guarantee fix. The problem is on the server side of Activision and I’m guessing the files are corrupt on our ps5. A fix will come but it has to be done by Activision. I love the external because I can store all ps4 titles there and not take up space on the PS5’s drive.

I’ve always kept ps4 games on the external but have noticed some saved game data and player profile on the ps5 console. I want to start fresh and download the MW19/warzone to the console (not transfer from external to internal). Will deleting the saved game data and player profile delete my online progress? I don’t care for the campaign saved data, just don’t want anything I’ve purchased for online warzone play to be deleted. My assumption is that it’s all online and I should be fine but I’m not 100% sure. Can you confirm?

Hey man, I keep getting two “add-ons” installs tbat say “can’t install”. It won’t let me open up the game so I can’t download all those extra files. Hey bro so many of us are experiencing this. Sucks but yeah I delete, reinstall, I restore licenses and manage and add as you do.When you see the failed message close and open the game again which prompts a smaller 9gb update. Then after it downloads I launch and it’s good. Lmk if that works for you.

Hey thanks for the sub- I know how much that sucks, you just want to play- not much to ask. It’s a known issue- the only guarantee fix is a reinstall. I know you don’t want to hear that because it’s a giant file but I’m afraid at some point there was a corrupt file in your original download/ or if it’s disc version the update install. I have directions in the comments on how to do it. Let me know how it goes.

Yes, all your saves are in the cloud. I just don’t see it being a disc issue as there is a specific disc reading error code.

Ok, and how much space is available on your ps5 drive? Are you putting the ps in rest mode? If your not out of space, the fix is to plug in your controller, boot in safe mode (hold power button for 7 second) and rebuild the database.

Yeah it depends on where you are in the process. If you downloaded Campaign first then obviously you can play that. Otherwise, all the packs with the exception of the texture packs must be installed prior to playing.

Yes both methods spent ages rebuilding then re install did not work the rebuild again and moved game to ssd all 7 packs,play it for a while then got a unknown error then went back to play and it s showed the install prompts again and I looked at the data pack missing and it was all even though the show on my external ssd also should I be able to transfer cod from external ssd back to internal ps5 as it only show a delete option on my extended storage screen

A little harsh broski lol but I totally agree with the premise of your post. The menu's are not intuitive, i find it very confusing. Things as simple as party chat are now way too complicated. The entire approach towards audio, 3D audio, disabling chat volume features for 3rd party headsets etc, is deeply flawed and hard to believe that with all the years of planning this is what they came up with. PS4 was def easier to use. However, i will say the load times are WAY better and obviously the hardware performance is undeniably better. Sony is slow to release updates to resolve these problems but that's just the nature of the gaming industry in general- zero attention to PR and customer feedback. They have a hold on us and they know it. We all threaten that we are going to stop playing etc, but without anywhere else to go, they know we are coming back regardless of how they treat the customer. Its a sad state of affairs and it applies to the entire industry, you have publishers like EA who have thousands of tweets about online services being down or any other problem with their game and they don't respond for days or even weeks. Zero attention, zero accountability.

Also, the new season comes out tomorrow so you can expect perhaps some new performance tweaks from the server side. Some of these issues can be fixed on the backend so one day all of sudden everything works.

Hey Trip, did you restore licenses? Are you getting any prompts, like “please install multiplayer”? Without hearing your answer have you tried going to your account's "Library", then in the "Purchased" tab, find Modern Warfare and select it, there you can find the missing packs

Go to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings. Select Saved Data (PS5) or Saved Data (PS4). Select Console Storage > Delete. Check the box next to the files you want to delete and select Delete. Thanks for the sub

Basically if youre trying to download multiplayer packs and it deletes itself when its downloaded then you can try go onto a different account and download it from there when i did it i saw and extra mulyiplayer pavk on my brothers account and i downloaded it and it worked

Begin by removing the modern warfare disc if that’s what you have. If you havent done it already you will need to create a new user account with playstation network access.(you don’t need two ps plus memberships) On your main account, delete all save data and the entire modern warfare game. It’s the same deal with digital and disc- remove everything. There shouldn’t be a trace of modern warfare on your console. Now switch to your second account. Go to playstation store and type Warzone in the search field. Don’t be confused when you see it says modern warfare, when you start downloading you will then see in the upper left hand corner it says Warzone. The file size will appear larger than expected but don’t worry. Just download and install. When that is done switch back to your primary account and you will see Warzone. Now you can play without any bullshit downloads etc. Just put on your ps and play- the way it’s supposed to be. Any questions or problems let me know. It’s 100%. Thanks for subscribing.
