I loved the fact that since the devs realized that World at war for the PS2 couldnt match the PS3 version they instead opted to make an almost completely different game. It made playing the PS2 version less of a watered down version and more of a final URA to the PS2.

the PS2 has no texture filtering (thus, the graphics quality), so even if it was made with an overhauled slavedriver engine, it would still look like crap, unless they used the same stuff that was used for frontline. or better yet, just release it for xbox and take advantage of more hard drive, better graphics and sound and other stuff.

Is sad think that this game of call of duty is the last of his kind in Golden age era. My most favorite call of duty game is COD 2 big red one. It has a great story and a great character build ups. You will notice it when you play the campaign. From their first action until the battle of the bulge. You will notice their attitude is changing from an amateur to a full grown man. It's story is way, way better than COD WW2. "Back on the roots" more like "we will shit the roots of cod game so we can make more money"

Personally in terms of the classic WWII based COD games, I thought 2017's WW2 was a great throwback to those titles. I feel like it became a band-wagon thing to jump on and hate WW2 for some reasons I will never understand. There might have been a few tiny forced PC political type moments, but they really didn't take away from the overall game in my opinion. The only critique I will agree on is that the game's story was rather cliche for a WWII themed game. That said the classic COD's basically had little to no story, they were more about just living in the moment of the soldier and their squads through various historical battles, so I can't throw any real hate at WW2 for having a somewhat tired and tried story, at least it had one. The only real classic COD game with a story, was as you said Big Red One, and that game was a big exception in that regard. So just because WW2's narrative wasn't as good as Big Red One's, doesn't really mean it was trash, I personally really enjoyed the game, and as a huge fan of the classic WWII themed CODs (and yes I own and have played all of them: COD 1, 2, 3, United Offensive, Finest Hour, Big Red One, Roads to Victory, Final Fronts, and World at War), I thought the game was a worthy follow-up to those titles that I had been waiting for since 2008. Its sad it got so much flak, regardless if you thought it needed improvement, since the negative feedback seemingly has caused Activision to steer clear of revisiting the WWII period anytime soon, which kind of sucks since I was hoping we would be getting a sub-series of new WWII themed CODs, but I guess we'll probably have to wait another decade or so to see if they ever take another shot at it again.

@@jacobdonny7586 I was only overly exaggerated my statement of my comment last year. It's not that the game itself is bad. It's just didn't lived up to the expectations of everyone. I guess it's really hard to replicate the nostalgic feeling of the classic call of duty games while having gameplay that appeals to most players nowadays. But battlefield 1 (ww1) did it better of making a game that is somewhat identical to the classic call of duty. Having Huge open space maps in multiplayer and the maps in single player is almost as big if not, more bigger than the classic call of duty games. I think it's the same reason why call of duty world at war (pc version) was receiving at lot of critisicm from most of veteran fans of call of duty back then for having a story that is more hollywood-bullshit than it's predecessors and it did not feel right at all but after Black ops 1 and 2 release, it became one of the beloved cod games by almost everyone. Maybe the fact that they show that black ops 1 has a connection to world at war which is really rare to see two different game titles is in the universe back at that time and black ops 1 on its own is really good both gameplay and story wise and the fact that it has connection with World at war, the image of world at war changes. I think the zombie of WWll Is really interesting and deserves to have a sequel. It would be amazing if they would make a ww2 call of duty game but this time, it's in the perspective of a german soldier. From the invasion of poland up to the fall of berlin. I don't care if the story is somewhat hollywood-bullshit. if they have the balls to do it, I would buy that game immediately. Not all german soldiers are bad and I'm sure that there are some interesting stories of german soldiers that they can use as a reference to make a storyline for the game.

Este fue mi primer Call of Duty, con la PS2 yo no tenia Memory Card, pero una vez gaste todo un día y termine el ultimo nivel, estaba feliz y triste, ya que después de apagar la play(estaba que explotaba) tenia que empezar de nuevo.
