Call Of Moshiach 3 - The Time is Now

In this podcast, we continue our discussion with the precedent for Am Yisrael to be saved by someone who does not seem to be a righteous individual, as represented by Yiftach HaGiladi. We also explore the idea of the call of Ezra and Nechemia who called the Jews back from their 70 year exile in Babylon, and the very few who heeded the call, although the 2nd Beis Hamikdash (Temple) was already rebuilt. We are charged not to make the same mistake.

​@@AriGoldwagtell the government a few things for me: 1. Raise the upper age limit for צהל. Some of us don't have our youth but we know quite a bit. 2. Eliminate financial requirements for entry. Some of us don't have the money. 3. Create a test of Jewish Law that can be used to fulfill requirements for right of return. Some of us don't have proof. 4. Offer citizenship to Jews who come who pass the test in item 3 above and do military service for 2 or 3 years. 5. Pay for flights if they are able to You'll see us all coming home. You will see the literal Ingathering of the Exiles. Ypu'll see a surge in morale, a surge in military enlistment, a surge in new ways of dealing with the same old problems. You'll greet moshiach.

I would love to move there with my entire family, but what about the prophesies indicating a great war in Israel and subjugation under Arabs, partial destruction of Jerusalem etc (chas v'shalom, lo aleinu) ? If we rule strictly in halacha about matters of sakana then it could be argued that it is too dangerous to move to Israel ?

the negative prophesies were already fulfilled. we were already under arab rule for centuries. see the gemara in megilla 13 that says that once the Jewish people start to rise, we only continue, and once Amalek starts to fall, they fall hard. 7 million Jews are living in Israel as we are commanded by the Torah. it is abolutely not a sakana.

What of those of us who can't afford it? For example even to volunteer in Sar-El -- to come and help you -- I have to save thousands of dollars as a condition of entry. That's no way to avert a holocaust, Ari. Do you have any friends in Knesset? Do something please! We will never make it if it will be thousands plus flights. We live paycheck to paycheck and we are slowly going under water as it is just payimg our bills. Rent has tripled since we moved into this tiny apartment. It's easy to say we should come. Of course we "should". But too many of us are absolutely not in a position to actually make it. So we have to worry about mobs coming for us if Trump loses, after what he said. I don't even know how long we'd survive at that point if I had a hundred round drum. It's going to get like those zombie apocalypse video games. We'd love to come help and I'd love to fight for Israel. It's what I was made to do. So I know I'll get my chance but currently, I'm too old. Do you have any idea what it will take for people in their forties to be able to enlist? It would only be a result of a draft. Which would only come after things got much much worse. So I'm not optimistic in the short term. But I do think once we are desperate enough and we can see something tangible, there won't be any more debate over who moshiach is. And I know it will come to be so I can only just wait. Horrible feeling really.

Also, I think we should make a point to be honest about the current geopolitical landscape: in the west, politicians are so very corrupt, I don't put it past one who might be, oh I don't know...an egomaniac...to do very very bad things to be perceived as a "hero"... **to specifically include preventing hostage release from being realized by the rival administration.** Take it to heart, and recognize the very real implication: Trump very well may have used all that wealth and political clout to PREVENT the release of our hostages, all to stroke his ego. The probability of this being the case is too great to discount. So here we see the test for the Jewish people: do we follow the guy who talks a big game but is behind the scenes preventing people from freedom? Or do we continue on until a real leader has [fully] emerged who maybe we won't hear or see on TV right away but is doing to things behind the scenes to fix everything and isn't even worried about taking any of the credit? Hold out. Those closest have to most threatening proximity to us. We have to stay sober here because Donald J. Trump knows just what we want to hear and that is exactly what he will tell us. Never forget what he did...he dogwhistled to his supporters that if he should lose, Jews are to blame. No amount of symbolic peace agreements with Arab oil conglomerates (which agreements won't even last in their current format, btw) can undo the threat posed. Resist the urge to see the utopia being intentionally presented to you as anything but the words of a false Prophet, declaring "peace! Peace!" when there is no peace.

you need Bitachon no matter where you are. that is really the answer. we are maaminim bnei maaminim. parnassah you need to find no matter where you are. chinuch issues are much worse in america. tuition fees are much lower in Israel (a few hundred shekels a month all together).

When I came 20 years ago, a financial disaster left me with $100 to my name the day I landed in Israel for my aliyah. Go and be homeless in Israel amd you'll be better off...but you have to GET THERE. That is the part that will cost you. They require like $2,500 cash in a savings account for any incidental or emergent expenses, and international health insurance, and a flight there and back REGARDLESS of if you plan on moving there. So grand total, ca. $5,000 to $6,000 just for one person to GET THERE...if I HAD that kind of money but it was all I had, I'd use it to go. However, in light of all of the requirements and that I don't have access to even $1,000...looks like I'm being abandoned by my people. Not a great feeling in this climate.

I have a question… If the Tanakh is the word of God and instructions on how to be a righteous species, why is humanity the worst they’ve ever been and still awaiting a new teacher to come and teach them again? Is it possible that what you’ve learned is not truly from God and thus why you are still living in sin and awaiting new teachings of how to be good/righteous?

we are human and all humans sin. that is why we needed the Torah to guide us. the Torah was given 3300 years ago and was never abrogated. its words are just as relevant today as then. we make mistakes, we correct them, we try to be greater. we don't need a 'new teacher' when the original teaching still works. We need current teachers who know the original teaching, not some misguided changed (and ruined) version of the original.

For example, if we want to destroy the souls of evil, do we teach them the truth about themselves with logic, common sense, psychology, etc?
