In Dec. 1973 while I was in the Air Force I was excited because I was going to a ZZ Top concert. The opening band was Kiss. I had never heard of them. Their 1st LP hadn't even hit the street yet. My friends and I were stunned. After the show, they were all we could talk and for days after. In the years since, I have seen them many times.

Awesome Story. I'm a huge KISS fan since I was like 2 or 3 I seen KISS meets the Phantom on tv in like 90 91. I have seen them twice seeing them the 3rd time on the 10th of oct. Ive seen Ace solo and it was great and was so cool to see a like 12 year old little girl singing and having fun and knowing all the words. Aces bassists told her he seen her the whole concert she knew every word and gave her a big hig made her night.

I have loved KISS since I was a little girl and finally got to see them when I was a married woman with children. I've seen them several times since then, but no one can put on a concert like KISS. Paul Stanley, the one who sang the lyrics to this song, was and will always be one of my favorite rock stars ever. I suggest the following songs: Deuce, Black Diamond, & God of Thunder. Rock and Roll All Nite and Beth are their most well known songs, but have been played to death, but still great songs.

This is the very first concert I ever took my son to. He was 12. The guitarist flew across the stage on wires shooting flames out of his guitar. My son is 40 now and still loves going to concerts. He was a drummer for a band that made it big but he chose law enforcement as his career.

Detroit gave Kiss their break when their home town New York didnt. When it comes to music in Detroit, anything goes! In an interview with MLive, Simmons pointed out that, "We broke in Detroit before any other city, even though we’re from New York.” While New York and Los Angeles have long been the cultural meccas of the country, in the 70s Detroit, home of Bob Seger, Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop and the Stooges, was quite literally rock city. You also had Motown, MC5, Ted Nugent.....

I remember they came to my hometown, after the concert they invited everyone there to the Sheridan Inn where they were staying after the concert, a mob walked to the hotel, and it was a party, they took over the hotel. It was estimated to be over 10,000 people, the cops just stood back. That place was trashed, sex, drugs, kegs, all the rooms were connected after they turn down the walls. At sunrise it looked as if a bomb went off. A few days later the local radio station banned Kiss from the air, big mistake. Another mob, I mean a mob, thousands stormed it, took over the station and began torching the place, attacking the cops, ripping up the streets, attacking anyone, the offical Kiss Army was formed on the spot, the rest is history. Yes, Terre Haute, home to Larry Bird and the Kiss Army
