Just now got to watch the wives show! It was absolutely one of the top shows! Being a retired firefighter (captain) my wife (me too) also experienced these same challenges positive and negatives over my career and after retirement being at home every day of the week. Even though I recently started volunteering with our local fire department which is a very busy department protecting 120,000 population, the Gettin Salty Podcast has been a breath of fresh air of encouragement. I look forward to it every week the great shows coming!!! God bless all firefighters and their wives!

I had to watch later but it was a fantastic show!!! I was talking to my wife throughout this show about this show all she could say "I know exactly what they went through"! I am not sure if that was a positive or negative comment?? There were those periods that our marriage did a little challenging but we always plowed through them and worked them out! I am retired and still married to the same women!

I went to Orlando from Indiana last week on vacation, and Chief Walt Lewis ( one of the people who asked a question) took me and my wife to see the Heavy Rescue and then back to our hotel 8 miles away so we wouldn't have to get an Uber. A fantastic guy who was very into the job, we had good conversation about training at FDTN, and I even got to buff a fire he was command on. I'm not surprised you also listen to the podcast, stay safe brother.

First of all let me say I'm like Pete. I was never a firefighter, but I've always been a giant firebuff. But this podcast is the best. I have many favorite shows & guests, but I gotta say the Wives Show, was my all time favorite. Ana, Roe & Maria are three brilliant & beautiful ladies. I hope you guys have the Wives on again sometime soon, because it was truly the best show. Thanks again to , Chief Steve, Maria , Lou & Roe, Ana & Kev , and also to Pete. Keep up the excellent work on the podcast. PS: I have a suggestion on another fire department to get some insight on Baltimore City, Maryland. I don't know if the guy would do it, he retired as a Deputy Chief/ Acting Chief of the Fire Department & he was also a graduate of the first group of 18 year olds to graduate the fire academy. You guys may even know him or of him.

Not every women is cut ti taj oj the life style and wok hours, raining kids mostly by themselves, Firefighter psouses miss gamesn birthday partys,college evet. It took me and my wife approximately a year before some sense of normalcy. GREAT SHOW!
