You are spot on about the compression on these balls. I've been playing for a year now and use 2 piece balls because of price. I bought 3 dozen of these used and I love them. I have an 84 mph swing speed. Theses chrome softs have helped my short game so much. I have shot under 100 four rounds in a row. I still have used ones left but I have bought a brand new dozen of these because the feel is so good with these balls. Better than the tp5 and prov1 imo. I was a 27 handicap before using these balls and now I'm a 23 handicap. Trusting your ball is not going to roll through a green and is going to check up some has made a huge difference in scoring for me. Keep on doing great work on the channel buddy

Thanks Nick! I found a Callaway Hex Soft and was very impressed with it, and it's inexpensive. I'm low average swing speed: it was incredibly long and straight off my driver! Hope you can give it a look someday.

Thanks for this review. I also look for value in what I buy so I buy balls used in 4A or mint condition and have been playing the Supersoft two years now. I really like them, but my scores have improved so I wanted an upgrade and found these for about $1.50 a ball in 4A and I just pulled trigger.

I'm definitely for saving money, but just be really careful buying any type of used balls. The fake golf ball market is a multi-million dollar industry. And they are getting better at it every day. I would also maybe try balancing them when you get them in some water to make sure they aren't lopsided. I've seen a few used ones that were completely unbalanced

Seems like a well balanced golf ball. If your short irons and putter works the longer end of let's you down and vice-versa. It is just the price . As you say there are more cost competitive balls that will measure up to this ball. I always enjoy your reviews for us mere mortals of golf.

Been looking forward to this one. It’s just hard to justify paying more than $30 for a dozen golf balls. I just bought the new Titelist Trufeel because it seemed to offer the best balance for dollar of distance but spin on the greens. And if I can get a ball that does that for $24 a dozen then why would anyone pay more for a ball that probably performs close to the same.

I have tried them, ok they aren’t bad but the price thing against some cheaper balls don’t stand up. I do like the ball markings though.

Hard to say it was very windy today! I played a lot of low runners into the greens and that went well, distance was decent on hole with a tail wind. I managed an 83. Won some money!

Great video. Hard to justify paying 50 for these when the Srixon Q Star Tour has a similar compression with the urethane cover and holds greens great

Very true. A lot of people have great success with the q star tour. And at a much lower price it just makes tons of sense.

Let to the party - agreed at $49.99 they are a bit steep, but they are a solid ball. I buy the "practice" labelled Chrome Softs for $28.99 - they are the 2021 (I think) version but hard for me to tell the difference with the current ball. Still has the same consistency, speed and forgiveness as the retail version at almost half the cost.

Interesting. I’ve always thought the side spin on these were too much. I might try them again.
@GolfBallAddict
@GolfBallAddict Жыл бұрын
I would say it depends on the clubs you are using and your handicap. I'm using pretty much the most forgiving clubs, (Mizuno driver, hot metal irons, CBX wedges etc.) So I don't side spin the golf ball that much anyway.

@@GolfBallAddict I've gotten better since I stopped playing them. I was battling a pretty bad slice for a while. Now my drives are fairly straight. I ten to pull them more than slice and my slices are more like fades or "powerfades" than slicing like they used to. My Driver and 3 Wood are Cobra F9.

Is this a "new" version, ie. 2023, or their 2022 product ? At least now, the word "SOFT" is not a " lie", as these were much firmer a few years ago.
@GolfBallAddict
@GolfBallAddict Жыл бұрын
I was told it was the 2022 version. However someone pointed out the markings on the side. It's apparently a 2020. Still good for research but I'll need a review of the brand new 2023 soon to compare

I bought a couple dozen Chrome Soft balls quite a while back and I'm hoping you can help me. I know Callaway really stepped up the precision with newer and better technology, but now sure these balls were manufactured before or after that change. The box looks identical to the 2022 version of Chrome Soft and so do the balls logo and arrows. However, the year printed on the inside box top says 2021. Can't figure out if that means it's 2020 technology, manufactured in 2021...or if it's an early release of the 2022 version. I've seen the 2020 boxes and I have 2022 versions; these 2021 dated balls, as I said, have boxes just like the 2022 Chrome Softs. So I don't know what I have here. Hoping someone might be of help

Sorry for the late response. One easy way to tell is the alignment tool. Also, if it feels firm in any way whatsoever it is a 2024, if it feels soft its a prior generation.
@Blue_Dun
@Blue_Dun 2 ай бұрын
@@GolfBallAddict thank you sir. Yeah I know they aren't 2024....it's whether they are 2020 or 2022 and if the 2022 technology was a significant improvement over 2020. It's not a 2020 box but I didn't think they released 2022 until Jan 2022. Perhaps they didn't and a copyright date of 2021 is just when they came off the assembly line then they didn't actually hit stores until Jan 2022? If that all makes sense. It's not a huge deal I just wasn't sure at what point they dumped 50 million into their technology and what year their Chrome Softs first reaped the benefit of that new and improved technology.

By the alignment markings I see that is the 2020 version. The 2022 feel slight softer (2020 compression is 75 vs 70 for the 2022 ball). The 2020 version would defiantly tell you if you miss hit it with the wedge. The 2022 not as much. The 2020 version was notorious for its core being off center. For poops and chuckles I cut one open. Sure enough the core was not centered. I mean by quit a bit. But, to Callaways credit they spent $50 million in technology to rectify the problem. All-and-all it's a great ball and you might even get better numbers from the 2022 version!
@GolfBallAddict
@GolfBallAddict Жыл бұрын
This is all pretty spot-on. And a great take. I was told it was the 2022 version when it was given to me. I did some quick research but I obviously didn't do my due diligence on it enough because you are correct is the 20/20 version. It's still really good for the numbers, and will give me something to compare to when the 2023 version gets reviewed. Which will have to be pretty soon.

Those Precept ( aka Bridgestone) balls are fantastic! And with a little bit of research online, you can find out that they are the same company, made in the same plant and the Precept Laddie ball is also a Bridgestone tour ball. Only difference is price and hype !
