I'm a high handy capper (30). I found a ERC ball at my local course and am quite enjoying it. I use the lines for putting and driving trying to correct my slice. I place the lines at 7 o clock on my tee to try and get an inside slice reducing swing. Seems to work for me. My new favorite ball

As much as I appreciate fitting balls at and around the green, I’d love an additional vid head to head on flight characteristics and distances with the wedges, a mid iron, and the driver vs the chromesoft. I’m also curious to know if those lines are distracting when you hit an approach shot and the lines are going parallel or at an angle from the target.

Nice review boys, oh, um... I mean nice chat over coffee! Although calling it "technology" is a bit of hyperbole, the potential benefit of the triple track for those using the line on their putter was clearly demonstrated in Dan's Putt-Lab numbers. For those like Coach who use a 2-ball putter, visual alignment is achieved using the entire surface of the ball in line with the 2 dots on the putter, so lines on the ball may not necessarily be as useful. The other benefit I noted as I watched is the Tripple-Track makes it easy to see how squarely you struck the putt by watching how much the lines wobble as the ball rolls. I think this would be useful as a training aid for anyone trying to improve their putting stroke. Great job guys! 👍

I’ve used these for a little while now, very similar to chromies around the green. So far I feel they appear to have some distance gains but what I like more is the triple track seems to help me focus in with more chance of starting the ball in the direction I want off the tee 👌 whether this is becoming more of a psychological thing I don’t know but if it works for now I’ll game em till I lose them 😉

Picked up a pack of these yesterday and I usually use the premium balls like prov tp5 or chromesoft and .... I love it. The greens at our local course aren’t great at the moment but the triple track is a great idea and does offer benefits to getting the line right. Will defo keep some of these in the bag

Great video guys. Picked up some of these at the weekend. Only had one round with them but loved the feel around the greens. I always struggled with alignment on putts and felt these helped a lot. Had 34 putts and that's low for me. Be interesting to if it was a placebo effect if I continue in that vain. Bring on the good weather so I can give them a proper run out over several rounds

Bought a sleeve good ball line is great if you line it up correctly which is a whole other skill set. Went back to no line which seems to work better for me more of coaches mindset being a putting god myself wish the rest of my game was half as good. Fun video thank Dan and Coach cheers from Norcal

When i was on SAM putt lab the Pro suggested i turn the line round 90 degrees so its parallel to the straight edge of the putter and the results were amazing - worth a try anyone

Used ERC soft for 2 rounds. Hated the feel and green reaction with iron shots. Also thought it was too soft off the putter. Loved the triple track. I’m back to chrome soft x and hoping they will add triple track these those balls soon.

I can see both positive and negative with this. I always use Super Softs so why would I pay a lot more money on something that's basically the same ball but with a couple of lines printed on it. I do think that those players who use a different type of ball should defiantly give it a go as I switched brand a few years ago and have never looked back.Great to see you guys working on good stuff again.

This year's chrome soft was met with some resistance because it was more "clicky" than the previous generation. This ball is essentially last year's chrome soft with a fancy paint job...and by fancy I mean it has lines on it.

Not a bad review coach and Dan some info on the construction of the ball would have been nice. The way I see it these balls would be between a supersoft and chromesoft in the Callaway ball lineup. Myself personally I wouldn't want to sacrifice a premium urethane cover for 2 extra lines on the ball. For someone that uses a line on the ball to line up putts it would be interesting to see if having 3 lines makes a difference.

Spin numbers on full iron and wedge shot are kind of important, I don't understand why that's not in the test. Like Mr Parfield says, spin is always going to be taken from you on the course, so if the ball doesn't spin enough, I don't care if it has lines on it.

i know Coach is a Callaway Ambassador but the way the ball bounces on the green with a putt with the two ball Odyssey, doesnt matter what ball you hit, your going to get a bigger dispersion ? Custom Fit or Evenroll fit ? just saying

I do draw a line on my ball however I only pay attention to it while I'm practicing my stroke to ensure the ball is rolling straight. I find when I try to use a line on the course for putting I get to focused on ensuring the line is straight and when over the putt if I feel its off at all I'm not comfortable. My putting is better when I just visualize the path of the putt and make a smooth stroke.

Dan, on the second set with the lines visible, since you started your alignment 1 degree open, that accounts for your impact position reducing from the previous test. I wouldn't say the lines helped you get to a more square impact position, you still closed the face a similar amount.

What do you think around the greens when you get to a chip and the lines are pointing in the opposite direction than you want to play it, with there being 3 lines and different colours do you think it could be a little off putting, same as if its pointing out to in on the fairway and you are wanting to hit a draw would the lines get in your head and possibly make you change your path without thinking??

Most important factor in putting is speed/distance control. This does very little apart from adding to the SLOW play that already plagues our game. On another note, I'm sure Callaway will sell loads of them. Good on for them! :)

So two things immediately spring to mind. 1. Are Callaway saying that this ball exhibits different spin behaviours if you hit up on it (like driver) to when you hit down on it (like irons)? Or is it a low spinner across the club range? 2. Why wouldn't I just buy a sharpie and a stencil and mark 3 lines on my existing balls if I wanted extra line up lines?

The three lines are parallel to each other. It would be very hard to draw three parallel lines with a Sharpie. If you used one of the stencils, you would end up with lines that weren't parallel...kind of like the longitude lines on a globe or the lines on a basketball.

Great ball, good lines for a 4 foot putt but this ball is no use if you swing over 100 mph - if you dont then its long off the driver and gives feel around the green - a great mid handicap ball.

Nope! They released a new improved version of the Supersoft at the same time as these. The ERC balls are softer than Chrome Soft, not as soft as Supersoft, is my understanding.

I can't use any sort of line on my ball! Feel it takes an age to line up with a point then it doesn't look right at address so you end up trying again which brings doubt into my mind! I prefer to see the line, pick a spot 6" in front of the ball and putt away.
