I used to play the Super Soft or occasionally Chrome Soft (I’m a teacher, so funds are limited). However I started experimenting with the ERC Soft about a month or two ago and I’m hooked. The soft feel is great, and my distance from the tee (300 yds or so) is still right where it should be for my swing. The 3 lines have been a game changer. I love Rick’s videos and advice, but I haven’t experienced the “design flaw” he spoke of. Every golf ball is going to land in random spots whether it’s with your own markings, or manufactured ones showing in odd directions in relation to the stick. Seeing the ERC Soft lines not lined up on the fairway etc hasn’t effected my swing any more than any other ball. The ERC Soft is now THE ball in my bag.

Huge Vice fan here but their covers do not last very long. I have used the red, green, and even gold and within a few holes you see damage on the ball. I switched to these ECRs because of the better cover. Has anyone else seen issues with Vice durability?

I had lost considerable Swing Speed over the Last 7 years due to 4 Major knee Surgeries With my SS ( with a driver ) going from 110 down to mid to upper 80's. So we are talking 290 to 310 off the tee down to 200 or 215 off the tee if I'm lucky . My Wedges, Putter and the Fact that I Play Golf rather than having Golf play me, Is the only reason I still shoot in the mid to upper 80's. I play those. They are insanely soft. Cheaper than most other brands for a dozen too. Only complaint is that the cover gets really scuffed or chipped easily. Im not a very good golfer (I deeply enjoy it though) so I hit trees, cart paths, rocks, etc.... and sometimes on the first impact with a hard surface, it will deeply scuff or even chip a little.

Lovin the sound of this ball, but I won't spend that kinda money when the Callaway super soft are £15 cheaper and a phenomenal ball with fantastic soft feel around the greens... As for the lines, I love that!! I draw a black sharpie line on my golf balls, its so so useful... 1, easy to align on putts. 2, great to see the line roll nicely when you've hit the long putts. 3, easy to align on the tee. 4, and this is the biggest plus reason for marking your balls up with a sharpie line, when you strike the ball it leaves a little black mark on your club face, INSTANT FEEDBACK!! you can see exactly where you've struck the ball on the face, that information is absolutely priceless to anyone that is wanting to keep improving, try it!! It's Absolutely brilliant!!

I will be starting my 2019 season playing the Srixon Z star. I recently saw Phil Mickelson using a ball with multiple lines so I purchased a ball marker so I could make my own. It doesn't mark around the entire ball so it may be a little less off putting on those fairway shots. My putter also uses a three line setup so I am looking forward to see if the addition lines on the ball improve my putting.

I use this ball. I really like the yellow version. Easy to identify " my ball" playing with my group. Everyone else uses white. I like the compression in relationship to my swing speed. Two things that I do not like are: 1. It is expensive. Almost $15 more than the Callaway Super Soft I was playing. 2nd. It's not as durable. It shows wear after 18 holes. But I do like the feel, the stripes, and the color as I mentioned before. Hey! I waited for you to cut the vall in half like you always seem to do...what happened? I started a few weeks ago to draw three lines on my balls because it feels easier to align it on the green. I often noticed than i had to check twice my alignment with only one single line on the ball. Those three lines don't bother me on the fairway because I don't use them off the tee. I think it's the key to use them only for putting and it's a real boost of confidence on the green.

Using Wilson Zip during this winter, despite a fairly mild, but rainy, season here in South Carolina. When the courses are in prime season shape I'll go back to the Bridgestone RX and Snell. I used to put every ball in contraption that spun the ball so you could find the center of gravity in each ball, and mark it with a line to make putting more consistent.
@jamesallen59525 жыл бұрын
I use the Bridgestone B RX and I put a solid line on the ball but only use it on the green, but not parallel to the hole. This is so I can see from the dark line rolling if I am pushing or pulling putts, which for me, is a bigger issue than lining the ball properly on the line I want to putt it on.
@etherblitz47965 жыл бұрын
I play the pro v1x and I do use the line on the ball for my tee shots and putts. I find it helps a lot on holes that the fairway goes one way and the tee box goes the other way. Helps me stay focused on the strike line and not on the illusion I’m seeing with the offset tee box and fairway.

I bought a dozen of these while I was in Florida playing a few rounds. I really like them. They’re nice and soft on the touch shots. They hit and stopped if that’s what I was after. Where they really shined for me was putting with the lines. I’ve up till now not used any line and left the blank side up because one small line I could never get on the proper line or match it with my putter line. These lines were great and were way easier to feel I had it lined up right to begin with. Also felt it was easier to square up at impact of the putt. The random line up on full shots was awkward at first but 9 holes in you just look past it and really didn’t notice it.

The Callaway is the straightest, and the TP5 is the best around the greens for me, but all are close enough that any one will do a great job. I currently play the Z-STAR XV, though I'm gonna test it against the cut blue. I've seen many get much more spin off the cut, but lost a little distance. I'm curious just how much I'll lose if any.

Currently use Callaway chrome soft and use a black line with a black dot either side of it. Really want to try the ERC

Currently use 1 of 3 golf Balls. chrome, Prov1x when I have the Money, but always keep a couple Srixon soft feels in the bag. I like the concept of the 3 lines but as you stated think maybe less pronounced would be better. If the Blue was a grey and the red a black or if the red was thinner and shorter with grey stripes instead of Blue.

I use titleist golfballs and I draw my on line. I make the line just a little bit wider and it works for me. I have tried callaway with the three lines and it just doesn't work for me. I feel like I don't focus as much as I do with just the one line when putting.

Titleist AVX! Love the distance! Plus the feel is great with wedges and putts!

Ball In my bag - Pro V1, Chrome Soft, Honma TW-X, Snell MTB-X, TP5, Mizuno MP-S AND Mizuno Platinum (5 Piece) Mizuno RB Tour, Wilson FG Tour. In winter and leaves on the ground Wilson Red Optik. No I'm not joking and I don't lose that many a round - define "that many" I'll play a few 9 holes at my club then settle on my ball for the year. Lines on ball, Yes I mark mine but the 3 line thing - good idea for putting alignment and on the tee. Fairway and distractions from the lines? probably not an issue since i normally focus upon a spot a couple of feet ahead of the ball. Scuffing up - not good. Softness check and bouncing off the wedge face - not a chance I can shank from anywhere - I do however tap the ball on my lower teeth. Keep the video's coming, they are gr8.
