Pretty cool that Reeves Callaway commented on your last video, hope he follows your entire project.

Yeah I'm sure pulling that engine would be an adventure with all the bells and whistles on it. The manifolds cleaned up nicely, good job Chris.

I echo Brandon Lesko's comment about Mr. R. Callaway watching your video. Hope he continues watching and advises you when necessary. Good for you Chris. Keep up the good work.

That rustoleum header paint works really well when blasted before hand like that, I did a set of Pacesetter GTO headers as well as my own LT1 Pacesetters and that paint lasted several years through all weather driving.

Hey Chris, I'm sure u have seen the Benchtop Abrasive Blasting Cabinets that are available, maybe that can help in some of the smaller parts if you're going to Media blast, and that exhaust manifold came out pretty good!!

Great video I was thinking about purchasing that setup from harbor freight thanks for helping me with my decision

Thanks for explaining why your not pulling the engine. My suggestion to do so wasn't strictly for the turbos, but just to make things easier to clean/service/replace etc, based on the level of restoration you are doing. I didn't realize it was such a monumental task to remove the engine. By all means keep up the great work!!!!!

Didn’t know harbor freight had a media blaster that could be used diy like this. I think I’ll have to look into that
@jonstapleton763 жыл бұрын
Small turbo. what size are they?
@randallorr37303 жыл бұрын
If I am not mistaken, to remove the engine you have to take the turbos off anyways so, I don't understand the comments on removing the engine. If you don't have to remove it you don't is my philosophy. Just a thought, are you able to get the correct fasteners from Callaway maybe? I like you am a big one on making sure the right fasteners and hardware are used on anything I work on. There are reasons for what is used in various applications and it is important to use the right fasteners, gaskets etc. Engineers don't just pick bolts out out of a bolt bin there is purpose behind what is used. That manifold looks sweet by the way. What you are doing with this project is so cool. Can't wait for the next vid.

I was one of those suggesting to remove the engine. However it wasn't only for the turbos but for the level of restoration he is doing. Thinking it might make things easier to get to and clean. Also mine was only a suggestion if it was feasible to do so, now that I know it isn't a realistic option I wouldn't pull the engine either.

@@geoffreymckenzie5561 I can see your point. He is doing a lot. Truth is, it might come to that anyway. This car has been tracked to death. I am pretty sure Chris will pull the oil pan sooner or later. That may reveal where the rest if it goes. I am hoping he can do just the top end and be good. Right now it is hard to say. This poor car is a perfect example of not following through with the old principal, you play you pay. This car was as he said driven hard and put away wet. This car is so cool though. If I had the money I would fund the whole project. Wish I could.

Its been three weeks since you posted on this on this trubo Corvette. That one bolt on the exhaust manifold must have kicked your tail. Guess maybe you needed a little R&R with the go cart.

First rate work Chris. I would like to see a manufacturer comp you a media blast cabinet for evaluation and review, Does anyone have a relationship with a manufacturer? Thanks for sharing,
@budhorstmeyer93363 жыл бұрын
Chris, care to review the blaster? You didn’t mention how well you feel it did, which might tell the tale!

It makes a hell of a mess not being an enclosed cabinet, but it gets the job done.

Not being familiar with vettes....do you pull the engine or drop it ?
@mycorvettelife2 жыл бұрын
If you did, it would come out the top.

You have enough room for the bench top blast cabinet I promise. Also. I dunno maybe its just me but all of us that watch and comment especially are usually curious or just trying to help. You kinda sound condescending when you reply to things in the video. Just my 02 cents. Either way I like watching the progress. We are not all corvette pros.

If toy didn’t make the comment, it wasn’t directed at you. I’ve had more than a few people tell me they could pull this engine in less than an hour. 😂

Chris, I have a C4 Corvette differential gasket I don't need. PM me so I can mail it to you.
