Since you admit that you rarely hit fairway woods off the ground, your ideal setup may be the 340cc mini driver plus a Callaway Apex UW with about 19* of loft. The UW performs like a “super hybrid” with some fairway wood DNA mixed in, at least in my hands. In addition to being able to hit the UW off the fairway, the UW is easy to hit from all but the thicker and deeper rough.

Callaway does not suggest using it off the ground. It is more of an off the tee alternative. Which is why I got it.

How much does the head weigh with no weights in it?

The total weight of a complete head minus the weights of the front and rear weight (HW-FW-RW = Weight with no weights in it) Hope this helps ⛳️👍🏻

Is this better than a driver head on a 3 wood shaft?

Problem is swing weight doing this, you need a fitter to adjust that. I would argue that, any of the Max drivers are easy to hit, and i play the AiSmoke max 9 degree, turned down to 8, goes very straight, why would you hit a mini driver? I also have a AiSmoke 16.5 degree 3 wood, great off the tee or deck, so why have a mini driver? My pals a fitter, and says the 3 wood length shaft is easier, but poor swing is a poor swing, so have lessons.

@@Pud56 5 wood is plenty of club for me and I don’t need a 3 wood really. I think there is a market for high swing speed players to play 2 types of drivers on some courses
