I thank so much for showing us so much love for our Latin culture. I am from Puerto Rico and I know that many negative things are said about this artist. I think that people are intimidated that he freely exposes his thoughts in the face of inequality, lack of love for our country, culture and the political injustices that happen in Latin America. I know that on many occasions because he is so passionate he has said things that sound cruel because they come from the disappointment in his heart. In many interviews he has explained and apologized for the fact that without any intention he has made people feel bad because he is very passionate when he says his opinions regarding injustices. I lived in exactly the same place where he comes from. I never met him even though we only lived 3 streets away. That's why his name is Calle 13. That is the number of the street where he lived (13th Street). My family and I lived on 5th Street. Everything he says in his lyrics is 100% true. Everything he says is what it is. It is sad that many times the truth confronts us and many people do not like to confront things when they are wrong. So we have been doing them wrong for many years. There is always a time to remake them well. This is why I like this artist so much: Residente Calle 13 But this is just my humble opinion With love and respect Shakira Rodriguez Velez from the beautiful Island of Puerto Rico ❤️

Man, if you only knew Spanish you would be shocked. This man caliber is so damn great and even tho he is an urban artist, he has had great success in many other genres like reggeaton, rap/hip hop and more. Rene aka residente is a legend in Latin America, he has won 39 out of 72 nominations, those being 4 out of 5 Grammys and 24 out of 42 Latin Grammys. Like not to sell the dude short but residente is a pure lyricist, in this song some of his lyrics say “My answers can be aggressive that even lyrics flee because they’re afraid that I write them”. Listen to Residente- La catedra and you’ll see what I’m talking about

René is an independentist. He believes in Puerto Rican independence from the US, hence the revolution quote. He made a song called "Querido FBI" (Dear FBI) in honor of Filiberto Ojeda Ríos, former Puerto Rican independentist leader and armed revolutionary who was murdered in cold blood back in Puerto Rico. Filiberto and his guerrilla were in the FBI most wanted list for robbing a Wells Fargo truck and killing some US Marines, hence the "sailors" part.

English: Hey man, how you doing? I have to tell you and other people interested in it something very important about this song. In "Reggaeton" artist often do "tiraderas", those are songs artist compose so they can attack other artists. They do it for different reasons, some just hate one another, some want to get famous by insulting other artist and get people to talk about them, or in this case, because Rene does not agreed with some songs some artists came up with. That´s why he says for example "or if your momma is killed with the short and the 40" . Long story short, this song is a "tiradera" but it so well made that not all people get to notice that (also you need to know somethings about the "reggaeton community" for you to understand well). Great job, i hope your channel grows because i think your work, your art its something the hole world could appreciate. Greeting from Colombia :D Español: Hola hombre, como vas?
