Called Cry Regarder SONG :
Lyrics written by Rev. Jikai Dehn
-Music by SUNO AI
LYRICS:
Akṣayamati rose, palms pressed tight,
And asked the Buddha for the light.
"Why is this Bodhisattva shown
As ‘Cry Regarder,’ known?"
Śākyamuni spoke so clear,
“If beings countless call, He’ll hear.
His name resounds in every land,
And Avalokiteśvara extends His hand."
Namo Avalokiteśvara! Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Namo Avalokiteśvara! Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Namo Avalokiteśvara!
"Keep His name within your heart,
And feel your suffering depart.
He’ll douse the flames of burning pain,
And still the winds that howl in vain."
"Rivers deep He’ll make subside,
The Rākṣasa’s wrath pacified.
Call on Him and trust His might,
He’ll bring you safely through the night."
Namo Avalokiteśvara! Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Namo Avalokiteśvara! Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Namo Avalokiteśvara!
"If the murderer’s blade draws near,
His power makes it disappear.
The chains will break, the rage will cease,
And in His arms, you’ll find your surcease."
"With Him, all terror fades away,
He grants fearlessness to stay.
No evil thought can ever bind,
When Avalokiteśvara fills your mind."
Namo Avalokiteśvara! Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Namo Avalokiteśvara! Namo Avalokiteśvara!
"If your lust and anger rage inside,
And folly clouds your path so wide,
Just humbly speak His holy name,
And feel Him put your soul aflame."
"With grace upon His lips, you’ll find,
He’ll calm your desires, free your mind.
Call on Him in darkest night,
And you’ll be bathed in purest light."
Namo Avalokiteśvara! Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Namo Avalokiteśvara! Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Akṣayamati, with devotion so pure,
Offered a necklace, bright and sure,
To the Bodhisattva Cry Regarder’s hand.
“Out of pity, take it, and draw near.”
Avalokiteśvara, with grace divine,
Shared the offering between the lines.
One to Śākyamuni, to light the way,
One to Prabhūtaratna, as we pray.
In the cycle of life, with hands held high,
Avalokiteśvara, we glorify!
Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Namo Avalokiteśvara!
Oh Compassionate One, hear our prayer!
