@Kentsuruki I don't think it is, but it would be if the bass drum was only on the 1 and 3 beats. A poly rhythm I thought is where you can't have 2 or more things being hit at the same time. This is more of an off-beat rhythm, can't remember the exact name as I haven't had a drum lesson in 5 years or so

You should check out this band called Helio Sequence. The drums are really catchy like the songs you usually cover. Same kind of indie feel. Listen to the song Keep Your Eyes Ahead, or Lately. I think you will like the drums to those songs.
