Are hand showers not common in the US? The way Calli phrased it was like she'd only encountered them in Japan, but they're a pretty normal fixture in Australia, not in every house but probably 50/50 odds or better of seeing one.

Most homes charge extra for them or you have to buy and install yourself and hotels only 'nicer' ones or recent year remodels usually have it

I wouldn't exactly say they are rare in the US, but they definitely aren't standard either. It's seen as more of a 'luxury upgrade' (even if not a big one).

Tbf, I use a hair dryer to dry myslef, too. Although that's mostly because I'm "allergic" to water and the hot air helps to suppress the itchiness (it's called aquagenic pruritus, for those curious.)
