Calling All Builders! Husqvarna 55 Shootout!

The closed port EPA 55's use a 45mm jug, it's a version of the 5100/Jonsered 590 jug, not the 5000 cylinder. The Rancher and non Rancher 55 were sold by side for years, Ranchers came with 3/8 and no decomp in the 90's, standard 55's were .325 and had the decomp. Eventually they stopped producing the non decomp jug and everything got decomp cylinders. Production ran through at least 2010 in Brazil based on the IPL's, with the most recent I have found being 2010-04. I have a bunch of 07's and an 09 in the shop. I might have to put something together for this, I haven't built an open port saw on this chassis yet 😂

Love watching the videos and can't wait to see this one. Never had a Husqvarna always ran cheap saws when I was a young man. 16 years ago I bought my very first Stihl chainsaw. It was the last of the 290 Farm Boss steals.

55s a great 50cc firewood saw. Nice for groundwork with a 16. I'm really curious how hot these can be. I had one at 170 psi and I think compression is going to be very important here.

I would love to have some timing numbers for ome of those saws. I have a 50 and bought a bigbore kit for it but I will say stock it cuts good. I haven't installed the new jug yet

I’ve owned two Husqvarna 55 Ranchers , and stock they are a powerful little chainsaw . Unfortunately I wore both of them completely out , one parts saw is still sitting on my basement floor , the other one someone stole off my truck , the joke was on them because I wore it out . Helped me get on with buying a new one , Husqvarna 365X-Tork . Good small saw , comparable to the 55 , even though it’s a larger saw . 👍🇨🇦

Yeah, I've got the 365xt, and a 55, and I'd agree. The Xt is bigger and more, but somehow feels very familiar in the cut. After 12 years I finally turned my 365 into a 372 and cut a couple gill slits on the right side of the muffler. Alot more snappy now, so I gave the 55 muffler a new smile with similar results.

Is the Hyway closed port cylinder out of question? The Hyway cylinder is the open port transfer design but closed off some. Just asking, this is going 2 be pretty cool. I've tried 2 get a couple others interested (Someguyssawshop, Red Shed Saws) and someone one in 🦎s comments say he had a 55 that would smoke Aaron's 2152 & 4910😅 so I said 2 him nut up or shut up enter the wack-off(crickets👂)
