@@angelinalejeune1486 I think every song he sang that wasn't his he did a better job than the original artist except for one. No one can sing 'When You Say Nothing At All' better than Keith Whitley.
@angelinalejeune1486 Жыл бұрын
@Chief Steps-In-Poo I believe each artist can sing any song as long as they have their heart and soul behind it. I'm a huge fan of his and a lot of other artists. There are so many different artist that put their own twist on songs, too. In saying that, Keith Whitley was one of the greatest out there.

Awesome video featuring clips of him singing at all the wrong times.
@bleucrocmedia11 ай бұрын
Understood, Chris, and my apologies - I wasn't trying to pull this off as an actual sync - However, all the video footage was from that night, and my counterpart got the entire song through her recording. So, we combined her audio (from the actual performance of "Calling Baton Rouge") with the various footage I took from the whole evening. Perhaps the only solid (synced) audio/video clip is at the end where he's addressing the crowd, "You wanna get crazier than that . . . " - and I don't recall what song that was after. Either way, you're obviously disappointed - I'll do better next time. Thanks for the reply (Bleu Croc Media).

What was Garth wiping off his forehead at the 2:30 mark?
@bleucrocmedia2 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, that was sweat! At the 2:06 mark, he leaned over to slap my hand (give me five), and his sweat was dripping all over the place. It was quite a show - I wasn't a fan or familiar with much of his music before - but I'm a fan now.

Sweat. It may have been springtime in Louisiana, but remember, we're talking about Louisiana. We've got more humidity than just about any other state. Do you know what humidity is? It's little microscopic drops of water and here they're boiling. So water that's meant to be nature's way of cooling you down is actually sautéing you.

@@chiefsteps-in-poo8447 You are so right, chiefsteps - I've lived and worked in NOLA all my life and know what it means to have a "two-dress shirt" workday. The first shirt would be drenched by 11 AM, but you'd stick it out until lunch with clients, where you'd slip it on before walking into the restaurant. Then, put on shirt number two for a post-lunchtime appointment. By 4pm, you had the original shirt hanging out the window and flapping in the wind - that's the one you wore to meet friends after work hours (at that point, the tie was optional)

@@bleucrocmedia When I wrote my orginal comment about 4 weeks ago, my intentions were to make everyone aware of the heat and humidity around Tiger Stadium, and in general South Louisiana. As you know if you live down here, you and your body gets use to the "humidity". Garth definitely has never lived in high humid conditions. Garth did a great job of ignoring the humidity. It definitely didn't affect his performance. If your not from here, one bit of advice that will help you and become your best friend. Take a small towel, or large dish rag, something that will wrap around your neck. (Note: Your going to be wet from your sweat anyway) Dip the towel in normal cool water, then put ice in the middle area of the towel. You can use "dry ice", but make sure you double or triple wrap the towel around the dry ice. Wrap it around you neck so the cool part rests on the back side of your neck. This will lower your body temperature, the towel will catch the excess sweat, and you will stay happy. This works for all outdoor sporting events, yard maintenance, outside jobs, even summer time outdoor BBQ's! This keeps the cooks very happy. Many employees who have outside jobs do this to make it through the hot/humid days. Many people take a small ice chest and 1/2 fill it with ice and a little water. The usually have 2 to 3 towels in the Ice Chest. When one towel warms up, you put it back in the ice chest, and take a fresh one out to wrap around your neck. Usually on 90 plus degree days, more than one towel is needed. With "Dry Ice", you can get by with a small Ice Chest. This will keep you going for 6 to 8 hours, and you will definitely enjoy your day much better. Many of us have large yards down here. Good Luck to all!

@@LiPo5000 I have worked in film production and we'd take a hand towel lenghtwise and fill it with ice, roll it up and spin the ends shut. Then we'd safety pin it around our neck. The ice cools the blood running to your head and brain and the melt runs down your back and chest to evaporate and cool you further. I got so close to heatstroke once they had me lay down hugging a bag of ice to my chest. Not only does it cool your lungs and heart, but your arms too.

We had two camera phones going - I used the audio that she recorded of that entire song ("Calling Baton Rouge") as she didn't always have the best "visuals," and I used my footage of the whole night. Everything in this posted video was from that night in Baton Rouge, LA (in Tiger Stadium). I challenge you to go back and listen again - while the movements weren't always in sync with the "live" song, they were from the night of the performance. Either way, I appreciate your feedback, which helps me improve future content. Best to you
