Great video. Loved the prayer at the beginning. It’s great to see that you have faith and share it with your viewers. May the Good Lord continue to bless you

The Deer Hunters Prayer “Dear lord, to you I pray, As I set off into the woods this day, Bless my life and help me to be successful, Look over me and always be blissful. Heavenly Father, Grant me the wisdom to overcome all obstacles, And protect me from those things which I have no control of, May harvesting a deer be quick and true, With respect for the animal, with guidance by you, Keep close lord as I hunt today, And look over me to keep me safe, There is no greater god than you, This hunting season is the proof.” - AMEN -

2 1/2 boot stride and a wide stager, I've chased many bucks in that area that don't have much for racks. I couldn't believe that was buck I was tracking all morning though, still think he could have possibly weighed up good. Lovin the videos @mtndeer, keep the coming.

I know they are pretty much outdated and everyone uses their phone but an old fashioned wrist watch, not digital, is a handy tool to have for a tracker. The time is right there on your wrist and easily available and in a pinch you can use it for a compass; or you can pay a little more money and get a digital with a built in compass. Phones are ok but having to mess a fishing it out of your pocket creates unnecessary movements. Just my opinion. Nice video though.

agreed on the watch, love it. I hate phones, trying to get away from them it's hard though.

It was great, thankful to catch him. Played it all great, had an awesome hunt. Just not the buck I wanted, maybe if it was muzzleloader.

My takeaway is that you never call to them again, when they are inside 50 yds, and have your position pegged. He would have curled down wind to about 30 yards before smelling you, and bolting. Fun encounter. Deer hunters are always learning
@loganr819Ай бұрын
Agreed, I was just messing and playing with him them. I had decided to pass him up and honestly just wanted to get him out of there so I could stay on the track I was on. He was a good deer but I was still surprised it was his track.

I can’t help it, if you want to thank, pray,or worship someone for whatever it is you have,etc. you should thank yourself, praise yourself, and value yourself as you do the fictitious “god” you speak of. You, and you alone (unless you’re partnered with someone working together) are responsible for whatever good fortune you have at the time in your short lifespan(the fact it happened to snow is coincidental and normal this time of year…). That said, I (having not seen more than your religious opening to the video) truly hope you succeed in this hunt! As a fellow hunter, I know how many variables must align and how difficult deer can be to harvest solely based off their instinctual attributes alone. Good luck and be well!

Why is your camera floating around, while filming that deer?
@stevedenoyer5956Ай бұрын
Look like a 2 year old,8 point? 12-13 wide. He’s gonna be much better next year. Got to let them grow! Good pass.
@loganr81928 күн бұрын
@@stevedenoyer5956 Definitely not a two year old...........sometimes their antlers just aren't much up there. Long stride, wide stance, big bed, good buck

@@loganr819 you know your area deer better than I, but I try to age on body size and shape. He looked 2.5 to me. But who knows

These northeast wilderness deer are a different breed. I've seen countless 4 points weighing 170 pounds dressed, 70 pound button bucks and we call does donkeys for a reason.

These deer make big antlers look small.
@matthewlawrence708023 күн бұрын
But how do you think the deer will react when thousands of viewers start walking around in the snow calling deer???? We used to call them hunting secrets so everyone would not do it but now that you can cash that in for a dollar I guess nothing is worth keeping
@mattgohlke821620 күн бұрын
They have like 15 different calls on the shelf at Walmart .... it's really not a secret.
