I was at a cigar shop in Salem, Oregon when I noticed their Ashton display was directly across from the Tatuaje display. I asked the proprietor, "Okay, be honest. Is the Ashton really worth four times the cost of the Tatuaje?" His reply, "Some people swear by them, but for my money, unless you have a really refined palate, you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of _four_ Tatuaje than you will out of _one_ Ashton." It's that kind of honesty that has guaranteed I'll stop by every time I'm in town; snobbery be damned! Meanwhile, my local _pet supply store_ has a small humidor for folks who like to smoke while walking their dogs. That's how I fell in love with Quorum by JC Newman. It's damned good for only $3.95!

@OmniphonProductions6 күн бұрын
@@tijmen131 That's what I thought, at first. Then, I found out the owner of the pet supply store _also_ owns a cigar shop in the next closest major city. He likes to enjoy a good cigar while walking his dog, and he (rightly) thought that _others_ might like to do the same. As such, he bought a small cabinet humidor for the pet supply store, stocked it with cigars he already had at his cigar shop, and voila! Folks in a small, rural community (whose closest cigar shop is an hour away) now have access to a small selection of affordable, premium cigars...rather than having to settle for what they can get at the gas station. Brilliant marketing really.

I get clearance cigars with good reviews, usually $2 each. They smoke well, fine construction, happy experience. Got a few boxes of Uncharted by AJ Fernandez for around $45 BOGO, a little over $1 each. Same kinda prices for Black Abyss cigars by Jochy Blanco, some of the best-tasting cigars I've ever had. Rosa Cuba, same thing, $14 for a 20-pack and they're sooo good. I've had a wide range of cigars, up to the ~$14 mark, but cheap ones can be very satisfying when you buy 'em heavily-discounted. I'm transitioning over to mainly just using pipes lately, so I'm even more happy to stick with cheaper sticks that do the trick.

I was only buying the good, " middle of the road cigars" for years. Then this year, a not so good one, I began exploring the cheaper cigars. Looking for diamonds in the rough. Havana sandwiches by Billie's Bundles are pretty good, especially the corojo Robusto. Rico Barato Belicoso's are also quite good and generally burn well. Padilla Fumas in the Shade Connecticut, Maduro, and Habano are surprisingly good. Especially the Belicoso. Now i pick from the better cheap ones. Getting a few 5-packs, even 10-packs of the better cigars for once in a while, or holidays. I sure appreciate the better ones more! And I bought a 2012 Mazda 3 iST Sedan about 3 years ago. got a 35K car for a hair over 17K. Fast car with a Tiptronic 6-speed like a Porsche, tuned suspension, etc. Speedo reads 160MPH, but I've had it to about 123MPH so far. It wasn't even feeling broke in yet when I bought it!

I totally have this sentiment when it comes to my cigars. I want something that smokes great and tastes great but is just around $10 or less a stick. Most of the time when I have spent more then $20 on a single stick it has left me deflated because it just didn't live up to my expectation. Some have but more often then not they have left me feeling short changed. When I first started smoking the only people who smoked with the label on were either getting endorsements or sales rep promoting their product. Labels were use to quickly identify your cigar in the store; period. The only good cigar is the cigar you enjoy.; not what someone thinks it rating should be. Enjoy whatever cigar you are smoking, because they are probably not enjoying theirs as much since they must conform to the opinion of people they do not even know.
