Calliope Mori x AmaLee - Dance Past Midnight (Prog Rock/Metal Remix)

I was originally planning to do the songs on Sinderella in order, but I love this specific one so much I had to cover it ASAP. Monarch and Calli once again prove to make a powerful duo, and the synthwave instrumental is top-class. Who knew a song about laziness could be packed with this much energy?
For this remix, I wanted to try another shot at imitating Mastodon's style. They're one of my favorite bands, I hadn't tried anything in their style since Tsunami back in March, which was oriented towards their early sludge-metal songs from Remission and Leviathan. This song is more reminiscent of their later, more progressive work, from albums like Once More 'Round The Sun and Emperor of Sand. I think it fits the song decently well; Calli and AmaLee's vocal dynamic on this track is noticeably different than Troy, Brent, and Brann's, as they tend to bounce off each other a lot, but that fits in with the high-energy mood it's going for. The guitar techniques were kind of a pain to figure out at first, especially the solos (I'm about as good at hybrid picking as AmaLee is at death growls), but I got the hang of it eventually.
