Not sure why it took me this long to make another Rise of the Monarch remix after Metamorphosis, but it's here now! This one's a little on the short side, but it's a nice way to bridge the gap between Monarch's origin story and her rise to power in the album's storyline. Kind of a shame it's the only full song on the record to not have a music video, though.
I don't know what it is about rather brief tracks that compels me to turn them into super-long prog epics, but yeah, I might've gotten a bit carried away on this one. I guess I just really wanted to try more complex song structures and compositions that I don't normally get to write. Dream Theater has a few songs off of their A View From The Top Of The World album that I find interesting compositionally, so I wanted to go for something like that for the most part. I've also been on a bit of a Haken binge as well, and their style was what influenced that super ominous outro section. It took a while for me to get down those complex time signature changes.
