I use the Calliope in indirect fire role. Just dial in the distance to capture point, wait for the enemy to start caping and presto. Most of the time it's useless, but fun.

In real life, barring some field upgrade done by crews, the calliope couldn't fire the 75mm unless you ejected the rocket launcher platform first. That's the reason why CoH didn't let it shoot the cannon, because said field mod lowered the range of the rockets since they couldn't traverse as high.

Theres a bug with the calliope rocket launcher that Gaijin has failed to fix since it was introduced: The launcher and the gun aim separately. You can test this by trying to shoot over a rock that the main gun cant shoot over. the rocket launcher aims down toward the rock.

No. The launcher was entirely modular and was meant to be dismounted after use, sending the tank out to the flattened area afterwards

There used to be a time when shooting the rack would not detonate it. Good thing i didnt have to endure it for long, since i quit WT. Imagine a calli coming up from below, exposing none of its hull except for the rack on the roof, and laying waste to everything with rockets. Just like the first ATGM vehicles - hide behind cover and only expose the ATGM, with no repercussion. EDIT: wasnt it like 3k dollars to buy? I guess its the only vehicle thats worth it... or is it?

You can’t peak over a ridge in this vehicle because the rockets are bound to the cannon barrel and if you’re hiding behind a hill the gun will be pointing at the dirt and the rocket rack will aim down at the same point, not over the ridge. Or the gun will be aiming into the sky and the rocket rack will aim at space. There is no ability to switch controls or aiming view to the secondary weapon. As for the price it’s €50, or €25 when I got it in the yearly 50% off anniversary sale in November.
