Mason is considered dead in this timeline up to 2025. Otherwise, Menendez wouldn't be able to manipulate David Mason through rage, and Woods wouldn't suffer by his own actions. Mason needs to be considered dead while the choice of him being dead or alive is still impacted through BO2 choices.
